Some really great useful videos in this collection, good work please keep them coming. We will be using them in our local authority. I should point out there is a 40mm wiper zone rule for screen mounts so I think this video has some inaccuracy but still some good clarity around the main points.

Right, I understand what you are trying to do but the crews are under so much pressure that little of this stuff is possible. It's almost always quick check that will do. If you did everything that speed how long would it take you to do a standard round? My guess is 2,3x as long. (I'm not on about any council, company, crew in particular)

Vape must be BANNED completely, not only are they unnecessary (like cigarette NO essential nutrients in them), but also cause huge eWaste problem resulting accidents like shown in the above video.

Whoever came up with the thumbnail deserves a raise, I don't think I've ever seen a compelling PSA until now. You guys could really use some of those shots, and the ones of garbage trucks catching fire to go viral and actually make people aware of the problem. Maybe have one where someone throws away a batt and someone tries to stop then and they respond "it's just one double a what's it gonna do" then jump to the shot of the sorters dodging flaming flying batteries.

How about we put air decarbonisation plants next to recycling centers? Also I believe contamination in the waste that is thrown away is a big problem as people are not informed enough on what they should be putting in which sacks and that food and other contaminants can make recyclable materials non recyclables. Also blatant violations of waste disposal is still a major issue, it needs to be sorted out with the councils and engaged correctly with the public. This is such a major issue and people are not informed enough of the impact its having not to mention the reason why net zero is being pushed, we are in environmental crisis and it will only be realised when it's to late.

The shocking part of this video is how workers at recycling centres are expected to deal with what are effectively explosives, BY HAND. There's no way the footage at 1:27 should be passing health and safety. It should all be properly crushed and rendered safe by machine before anyone should be handling it like this. As for what you're actually suggesting in the video, that consumers remove batteries from mobile phones that aren't designed for consumers to remove in the first place, maybe the ESA should take a step back and rethink some of that.

The footage is from a Materials Recycling Facility, which is where your recycling goes. These plants are typical across the UK and are designed to separate all of the different recyclable materials from one another, so they can be made into new things. The operatives are there to make sure these materials are good quality and not contaminated with non-recyclable materials. That's why it's important that batteries don't end up in facilities like this - where they have the potential to cause injury. We appreciate consumers cannot remove the batteries from some devices, so these should be recycled with other small electrical items using specialist services. Our website www.takecharge.org.uk has more info!

@@neilschofield2325 thanks. Hmm - you sure they don't ask you to put them in a bag or another container first? If not, then the whole contents of the recycling container would have to undergo some very careful sorting once it's been collected. This would very much be the exception rather than the rule. Which council is it?

@@neilschofield2325 Thanks for flagging this. That's very unusual - we'll have a chat with CW&C to find out how they're separating the materials, while minimising the risk of fires. Definitely not the norm. Most require the batteries to be segregated from other materials.
