SPOILER FREE INFORMATION: Fun fact in the early 00s turtles series the their all Chunin with Mikey finally passing his chunin exam also female jonin is a recent addition to jonin which is why she stands out more the other 3 are her peers from childhood but she just became Jonin (perspective because most think it’s a natural age progression like by the time you her age you should be that rank when it’s not) special Jonin exists and aren explained well in the show so you have full Jonin like Kakashi and the team leaders but if you’re highly specialized at a particular skill you can become a special jonin like konahamuru’s mentor he’s great with principle and theory similar to Quirrle from the first Harry Potter the proctors you will meet are all special Jonin first one is the head of the interrogation unit and head torturer 😈🥷 second is a special ops and third is a sword specialist all of this is only touched on and you would need datebooks to answer some of these questions which is why it’s not a spoiler also nin the suffix is short for ninja while the prefix indicates the descriptor such as gen means novice or beginner for future reference San means 3 it also makes it easier to say if you say it separately until you get the pronunciation correct

1. Genins - Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, they do easy missions in teams, usually physical jobs 2. Chunin - Iruka, the character who gave Naruto a headband in the first episode. By the way, Iruka belongs to the teachers of the children at the Academy, as Ibiki said after the first test, they collect documents, information and in general Chunin's are distinguished by light green vests unlike Jonin's whose vests are dark green in color. According to the more realistic military doctrine, they would be majors by rank 3. Jonin - Kakashi, Asuma (with cigar) Kurenai etc. They are trained for independent A rank missions where they independently hunt and kill other ninjas, they are in some rank like Generals The reason why Kakashi gave his team the 7th to participate in the Chunin Exams was because they were able to defeat Haku who had the Kekkei Genkai that even some Jonin's would back down from trying to master something that was insurmountable. Iruka didn't know that, that's why he argued with Kakashi !

No lie, the Chunin Exam Arc is one of my 2 favorite arcs in og Naruto. These two arcs are the only times I feel like og Naruto is anywhere close to the quality of Shippuden.
