I prefer the Conquest format for BO3. It was used in the content creator invitational. tournament. Rules as follows. Same as this format, 2 decks and pokemon can't overlap in both decks. Open deck list format as well. The change is deck selection with this format. In game one, both players can choose any of the 2 decks to play. If a player wins, they have to win with the other deck to win the match. The losing player of round 1 can choose any of their 2 decks to play in game 2. If the match is tied after round 2, game 3 has to be played by the decks they have not won with. Basically, you must win with each of your 2 decks to win the match.

Pack Bundles was thinking of this, but then the issue remains of the standard format, where one meta can easily win anything so you just need that deck. To avoid that, the losing player can ban a deck instead, so players can’t rely on one deck

Game sucks at the moment cause you'd always want to go 2nd and going 1st has little to no benefits. Hope that changes soon.

Yeah it is so barebones. At turn 5-7 the game is 100% decided and there is nearly no player interactions that matter.
