My parents offered me a Tissot for my 20's. This was 20 years ago and it's still working perfectly in a perfect shape! They did not have a lot of money and this is fantastic that they could offer me such a good quality watch at an affordable price from a brand with a rich history. Now I have more money and can afford myself more expensive watches but I still wear regularly my Tissot from 20 years ago.

Well, my father offered me a Tissot automatic movement watch in 1974, and although I don't wear it regularly anymore, it still works perfectly. It's a Tissot Visodate automatic seastar with a black dial and a date indication at the 3 o'clock position. It's a 34 mm watch: rather small in comparison with the 40mm and more watches of today.

When this video first came out, I was 15. I was just getting into watches and the Gentleman was released. Priced at $550, that was an astronomical amount of money to spend on a watch, because in my mind most watches costed about $100-ish. When I got my first paycheck at 19 I went to Jomashop, and finally - the watch that was once sitting there on my Jomashop cart was something I'm going to check out with. It was an incredibly surreal experience. The reason why I wanted the Gentleman so much? This video. Life's starting to come full circle now.

Seiko SRPB41J1 (cocktail time in dark blue) has been my everyday watch since Christmas. Bought it for myself after a good year and haven't taken it off my wrist. The dial is so versatile that I can wear it with a suit (to work mon-fri for me) or dress it down with a more "out-there" strap for the weekends. I have only not worn it on one day since Christmas, and that was for a super dressy day where I wore my gold orient bambino! But, this Seiko is one I don't see ever getting rid of, even if I venture to more high end pieces, and it's simply due to the versatility and the change in blue depending on the strap!! Would recommend to anyone. Also, another FANTASTIC video, Teddy!

I'm trying to decide between this and the Sarx045 as my first decent watch. Lots of similarities. Both have good mixes of gloss and brush. I'm leaning towards the Tissot because the indices appear to have more relief and I think the slightly thicker gloss bevel around the face gives it an overall better balance. The crown is simpler as well and the back of the watch is way more attractive. On the other hand, the Seiko's minute hashes are more refined and the tuxedo stripes are sharp. On the practical side, the Tissot has 80 hours and a silicon spring. In spite of the poor kerning (type-nerd), I'm leaning toward the Tissot. Thoughts?

Hey man, love what youre doing...you do the work and that to me is the most impressive thing ..picked up that nomos that you got with the white face...looking for a grey leather strap. You got one on your website

I set off to a retailer over the weekend looking for an everyday watch with the Tissot PRX in my mind. But the PRX didnt' fit my wrist well; instead I fell in love with the Gentleman. Absolutely comfortable to wear, elegant enough to match a suit and a tie, but also with the sporty feel to be worn as a casual watch. Water resistance is enough for leisure swimming. I ended up ordering the quartz version online since I have other automatic everyday watch, but I imagine I would love it as well.

How much you paid for quartz version? What color? Now you got to pay for changing the battery too?

My everyday watch? A Bulova Precisionist. It's not bad looking, deadly accurate, and mostly indestructible. I have two versions. A gold with leather strap and a silver with silver bracelet. Why these? I like the smooth sweep second hand and if they are damaged, it's not such a dollar loss. Improvements? A larger date or add a cyclops, a day would be nice, too. Luminosity would be nice. Again, you asked about a daily watch? This is it. I also have an Orient with white face, a day/date, gold case, leather strap, for which I receive favorable comments.
@TeddyBaldassarre4 жыл бұрын
Nice choice, Charles! Those precisionists are freaky accurate. Can’t do really any better when it comes to accuracy for the price. Thanks for watching!

I love my Precisionist, but you're right that there is basically no lume. It's still my most-worn watch since I got it last November.

I've been noticing my "everyday watch" has been the last one I have bought, but this one is kinda nice. I have considered a Certina DS Podium that would fit in this category as well. Great video!
@TeddyBaldassarre4 жыл бұрын
Certina is very overlooked. Thanks for watching!
@bluetickhound164 жыл бұрын
I love my Certinas. I have a few now and they are robust, well made watches at fantastic prices. Tissot is right there in the same class as Certina, imho.

KD410SE I was really close to buying the model I mentioned around Christmas, but really had no place to try it on, and the only option was to buy it from Jomashop and then return it if I wasn’t happy. I still might. I like wearing overlooked brands

I was searching this Tissot few days ago and just saw youtube popping up this video, what a coincidence! Hard to pick between Seiko SARB033 and Tissot Gentleman, both are great for everyday watch, I'm a SARB owner and considering to pick this Gentleman as well.

Have mine since 10 days, the quality of the steel strap for this price is awesome. It’s incredibly accurate in timekeeping 👍🏻 with its Saphire crystal and 80 hrs powerreserve, in this pricerange, it’s a slap in the face of the other swatch-brands. I love mine since minute 1 😁
@oldfashionedsportsmanchave45904 жыл бұрын
Rico Kühne Who cares about power reserve. I’d much rather have a higher beat rate and better accuracy. It has a quick set date. How inconvenient is it really do set it and wind it should the power run down.
