Nice trailer! I got a similar sized one for the very reason you did - to lessen the trips in and out of the bush. I even welded a hitch onto the trailer, so I tow the trailer and splitter out at the same time. That way all the mess stays in the bush and I come out with the finished product...

100% on upgrading the hitch, also on adding a 3 point adapter to your tractor to tow it. In fact, I would even make sure your pickup can pull it......there's no reason to not be able to hook up to this trailer with the nearest, handiest vehicle for any given chore. Love the vids, keep them coming!

Handy, versatile, and really a must-have for what you do on your property. Appears to be robust and not a tin can. Ought to last a good long while. Nice score Adam. Looking forward to the completion of your roadside firewood stand. Hoping your mom dresses it up like she did your old one. Nice touch.

About 10 yrs ago I built a shorter, single axle version of that trailer. I basically copied designs of trailers like this one. I only have 3 acres and it has been perfect. With your much larger property, your trailer is a better design for your needs. You will really grow to love it.

Awesome rig. I have a similar trailer that is single axle and the tub is made of injection molded plastic. I really like the tongue feature on that one because I have almost flipped mine when getting into some rough stuff with a load on. I also like the tandem walking axle because the single axle does get a little bouncy. I do exactly like you do. I carry all my saws in the back of my CFMOTO Uforce 600 (soon to be a Uforce 1000) and carry the wood in the trailer. I made some wood sides for mine so I can carry a little more without the rounds falling out. Dave

Thanks Adam. The 1st Mod I'd do is move the Hinge to the back and put a Hydraulic Cylinder on it. I have Hydraulics on My 4 Wheeler. LOL I have one of the Big Huge Green Polly Tub Trailers Bought in about 2008 Put Higher sides on it. Second Frame with the Hinge at the back and another Trailer hitch to pull the Log Splitter or another Wood Hauler trailer. The Cylinder I got will stand that tub almost vertical because of the Tail design . Will hold almost a Face cord of Wood cut to 24" Mike M.

I also carry a rope so after I limb out something, if I don't want to leave the limbs, I can stack and use the rope to drag them off somewhere with the side by side. Other mod maybe is a place to hang the rear gate once removed. I picture another channel for the bottom and another set of latch hooks to latch the top onto. that way.. it is more than just a hook for storage it could be secure enough to haul out of the woods that way.

Hey Adam, you need some type of wench like Mike Morgan has ( Outdoors with the Morgans ) to pull the tree down the slope. Your handling the logs twice to get them in your new trailer. A cable and wench should help a lot to make for less work. I think ! Jack stand, "Hey Doug" :-))
@mikewatson4644

I've been hauling firewood with gorilla carts 1600lb cart using a 300cc 1992 honda fourtrax and that's about the limit of the machine. They claim its a 34cuft capacity (deeper but shorter) and weighs 325lbs, vs 420lbs and 24.75 for this unit. Should be able to haul this but it's definitely pushing the limits 👍

a 450 or 500 4 wheeler has more than enough power to pull it fully loaded, the thing is, quads don't handle the tongue weight very well and they have no braking authority. i pull a full sized utility trailer packed with as much wood as it will hold with a 450. As long as i don't go downhill it does its job without whimpering at all
