There’s a serious housing crisis in Cornwall. A large part of it is due to wealthy people buying homes that stand empty most of the year and are used as air bnbs, so I’d seriously reconsider that goal.

Hey Victoria! I’m so happy for you and all your successes. I was just wondering if you had ever considered the social problems that are caused by people buying second and third homes? It drives house prices up for locals and leads to people being priced out of their areas and increased homelessness.

I too came here to urge you to reconsider your goal to buy a holiday home in Cornwall. Second home ownership is causing serious problems for local residents and communities. And there are local residents living in holiday park homes, because they cannot compete on house purchase prices or rents, when second homes are being let out to holiday makers and left empty for a lot of the year. Please, please reconsider.

The criticism vibe is so true! I’m a secondary drama teacher and we have to critique performances alot! And this year my school is also having a big push on critique and we are focusing on 3 key words when it comes to critique- it has to be ‘kind’, ‘specific’ and ‘helpful’. This is really working- and creates such a nicer atmosphere in the classroom. This should be the same for online too- not that you can educate necessarily, but like you said you can block. Hopefully school will educate more and then as time goes on the hate and trolling will lessen. You’re such an inspo Victoria!

Your hair looks fabulous. One way to keep the heat in your kitchen until the doors are finished is the hang a tension curtain rod and then hang heavy curtains in velvet. Had the same problem and it was a great temporary solution. Once my doors were installed I resold the curtains.

As a temporary measure you could put inexpensive (not custom, think ikea) thick drapes in the doorway (a beautiful stoney/beige colour maybe). Whilst it would cut out some light it will make the kitchen toasty (even if you just close them at night) and get you through the cold weather in Jan and Feb :)
