Personally, I think that Speedy is one of the cooler looking ones to come out in a long time. So chill out, Zach. I would have preferred, though, a display caseback on this new one.

Love the new Speedy. As a Sinn owner I recognize similar DNA. Also it means that a thickness of 15mm is not a problem 😂

My family had an experience with the St. Louis county SAR team last summer. My cousins were two of the men involved in a canoeing accident in the boundary waters in the early summer. On of them survived, but the other did not. The SAR team worked, non stop, for weeks to find the body of my cousin Reis and his friend. If anyone got one of the limited edition watches and doesn’t love it, I’ll gladly buy it

Oh sorry to hear!

I'm glad it's automatic. The last thing you need is to forget to wind before or while you are flying. When it first came out only for test pilots a few months ago. Especially if the individual has an aviation background.

As a tool, it's too chunky. As a fun piece it's a mess. I agree, stick to a path & run with it.

Way too thick, insane.

Fr, if they can't get it under mid 13mm just lop off the rotor and make it a winder

Nearly 15mm thickness is unacceptable for a watch of this tier. With a manual wind movement it would be more wearable. So disappointed!

100%, the IWC and Omega disease. Even Tag can get an automatic chrono under 14mm. Waste of a beautiful dial

The military issue version is manual wind and slimmer but unfortunately you can't buy that version

@ Too bad, because it’s a cool watch.

I agree Zach. I couldn’t articulate it like you and didn’t have the historical context (thanks for the lesson), but as an Omega lover, there is just something about the look that was off-putting and convoluted to me the minute I saw it. As you said, though, taste is subjective. To each their own.

Totally, it’s an interesting one!

As a fellow Omega lover, I actually disagree. Yes it's too thick but I have seen it in the metal and because the side profile isn't slab like tudor or rolex it visually isn't too bad or as I expected in person. I also like that there is this fun model, as we have the moonwatch if you want a one and done Speedy and other heritage takes like the 57 or my personal next purchase the FOIS. I think this is a fun collectable (but not a one and done speedy)
