Hey giles. Thanks for the looksi. Looks like a great soaring trike. I was interested in what engine and hp. I really think that most folks dont realize that flying a soaring trike is probably the safest and most enjoyabe ways to fly. Slow take off and landing speeds ,great sink rates make good stretches into emerg lzs. Wings that can handle severe turb. Here in usa i fly my solairus single seat soaring trike from N wing. Pb looks great. My 2 place trike sink rate is so much worse in engine out. But as an aging hang x glider pilot and bad knees i get so much more airtime now. Dont have to rely on a driver or mt launch. So what i really like about the flylight pb is the detailed quality of the workmanship. Great demo vid thanks

I'm in the same situation... I have 2 Pacific Airwave Mark IV's yet to maiden as I was working on my H2 rating a few years ago and now both my knees have been giving me fits.... the initial HG training killed my feet after 4 days of hill training as both feet have prior damage history's..... at the same time getting the hg's I bought a used Northwing ATF trike but yet to maiden it as well due to needing 2 place training especially for spin recovery type of training etc.... I am in MS and know of no one nearby that owns trikes or instructions? Nearest training is in Jasper, TN at Skycycles with Mike Theeke... pretty expensive though

@GolfFoxtrot223 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruno, I'll have a look. The reason kingpost is still on this design is to keep the wing weight down. Topless isn't always faster. I've flown alongside the Fox13TL wing (Topless) and there was virtually no speed difference in the cruise even though the other wing was meant to be faster. Giles, I took my Adam back to Ben earlier this month for a check-over (following it being tipped in a gust of wind) and to fit a hand-throttle. On my first trip out back at Perranporth, when taxi-ing to the runway hold, I suddenly found myself hurtling along the tarmac. It took a few seconds before I realised that my sleeve had caught on the new hand throttle lever!! The Adam gets a lot of attention from aviator colleagues, so they might have been surprised to see an attempted downwind take-off from the taxi-way... Cheers John

So, does this machine fit under your "Sub 70" rules? Does it weigh about the same as yours? Does this machine cruise at the same air speed as yours? I seem to recall that you had to do a hang point mod to bring the speed up. Also, have you had a chance to fly the Fox TL (strut braced) Aeros wing? I wonder how that comparison would do. I fly a Fox TL win, and mine seems to be a bit stiffer in role then yours. Great video, I love these comparisons. Thanks.
@GolfFoxtrot223 жыл бұрын
Yes, Mark's is the Sub70 machine, it weighs a little less and all the current wings come out of the factory with the hang point mod as standard. Speeds are identical. I've not flown the strutted so I can't compare. I will try and get my hands on one 😁.

I am not sure of the brand and equipment with the ppg at the moment but my trike is a Northwing ATF that I bought used in 2016... the seller told me that I would just need about 5 minutes training... and once I contacted a trike instructor and told him what the seller said... and he asked was I planning on growing old? Lol... yeah I know you can get into some scary situations so yes I agree some training is definitely needed... the ppg is probably alot easier to fly though..... smooth skies my friend
@GolfFoxtrot223 жыл бұрын
Hi Kenneth, thank you for subscribing and joining my crazy journey. It's good to see you are aiming to join the skies, I'm glad you are getting instruction but I think, unless I misunderstood your comment, the instructor has a negative image of trikes. I tried PPG trikes once, I preferred footlaunched as it was actually easier when the winds got up. I kind have become a little lazy now I fly the Peabee, I just point down the runway and go. I hope you enjoy the content and please keep me posted on your progress. It doesn't matter what you fly as long as you are having fun and enjoying it.

I seen a KZbin video of the original owner engine over heating "original factory head" and it quitting in flight and he dead sticked it into a farmers field unable to restart during flight... Herb Benton... he has a few 19 second cell phone videos of it being modded for ballistic parachute and electric starter and battery mod.... @GolfFoxtrot223 жыл бұрын
@@kennethjohnson6223 It does seem that the engines are expensive but they are reliable now. $2,800 seems to be the same in UK £ so even more expensive for us over the pond. A phrase that is very apt is as long as you are flying and you are enjoying it does it matter what you are flying. There are flexwing pilots in the UK that turn their noses up at the Peabee as its small, slow and exposed; I say they are missing out, but also their machines cost nearly 3 times as much.
