Being an old sod, I’d never heard of this until I got a hacked SNES mini. It’s my favourite mini console, and not only because the SNES was and is my favourite console of all time. But because the hacker did such an awesome job. Things like parallel worlds with its custom box art and home page sprite are the icing on the cake. It’s a surreal experience firing up the SNES mini and having a game of parallel worlds on a pretty authentic controller (with a wire). It’s almost like your in a parallel world.. keep it retro 👊

Zelda 2 is still my favorite. Tears of the Kingdom could knock it down to the second favorite. It looks amazing, and I feel like it's the Adventure of Link equivalent, while Breath of the Wild is a Zelda 1 equivalent. It's darker and has a more mature look to it. Ifeel the same about the originals. OG Zelda 1 was bright and extremely fun like BoTW, Tears looks darker and more mature of a story than the latter and has me absolutely dying to play it. It also feels much more different than the original like Adventure of Link was on NES. It looks like stats play a bigger role as it shows fusion damage stats when infusing two objects.

This is by no means new unless they updated the game recently. I remember downloading this way back in 2010 and playing it on my cfw PSP. Diffucult romhack, some tedious backtracking, and very fun. It's probably one of the best link to the past romhacks I've ever played. Glad to see some new coverage on it though, hope more people will try it out.

The thing which let me quit playing this was the requirement of bomb-jumps which are - in my opition - rather a bug and not a legit mechanic. And I don't like abusing bugs for completing my games :D

There's a room in Gannon's Tower in the original that you have to do a bomb jump to get to. That's the only time and it's completely optional. But it's not a glitch.

This hack seemed pretty cool back when I tired it. But then I got to the Armos Knights boss fight in I think the second dungeon? Each one would take 20-40(Been years so I don't recall the exact amount)hits to take down. It was so damned tedious I just stopped playing after a few tries. There's a challenge and then there's literally needing to hit a boss hundreds of times. It wasn't fun, it was tedious. Even after beating them you'd then have to fight another boss right after, and if that boss killed you, guess what? Have to fight the Armos Knights again. I know about the hack of this hack that fixes the difficulty, but I never went back and tried that.

I think Bombs do a lot more to Armors Knights than the sword do. I think I used a lot of bombs at that point if I remember correctly.

the 3 Zelda CD-i titles deserve proper none meme study and review, it's trendy to hate on them, if Nintendo where to some how see fit to have them remade in a Pixel remake like or 2D+ and release them on switch that fixed the issues of a disjointed CD-i hardware schemes, but kept the story and gave the animations a little polish, I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't mind the BS-Zelda titles either being released in a way we can play them and support the big N at the same time.
