CSS is different from ISS in many ways. CSS is not just a scientist research station but also a low orbit work station to service and launch objects in space. The last module has an object launch chamber, westerners call it weapon release chamber like a bomber, lol. So satellites can be repaired or new released. There will be a telescope launch in 2023 to fly next to CSS and dock when upgrade is needed. CSS in current form can house six persons and even the weight is only 25% of ISS but the space inside is about 55% of ISS and generates same amount of electricity as ISS. CSS uses ion thruster to navigate so it consumes less fuel than ISS. there are 17 countries will participate CSS including Japan Korea Middle East and Africa countries. US applied but China refused to convert the indigenous operating system from Chinese to English, american doesn’t want to learn Chinese, can’t go. The interior space of ISS is 912 square meters and CSS is 900 square meters, the major extra weight of ISS are solar panels, racks and fuel.

It has nothing to do with the operating system. US law bans himself from partnering with China anyway. China is simply helping US understand his own law.

Don't think it is productive to process US application until they fixed their own punitive rules. Otherwise it is just a plain waste of scientist time as it is illegal in US. Nasa has been transformed also, now headed by an illogical and drunk politician.

China has been seeking cooperation, but the United States has so far pursued a policy of technological blockade against most countries, including China. China was forced to independently develop its own space station, satellite navigation system, moon landing scientific research and deep space exploration technology by the selfish behavior of the United States. Although it is difficult, it does master the development technology and equipment research and development of comprehensive independent control for China Accumulate a very solid foundation and a strong latecomer advantage.

Why do we need to look at this from a western perspective, 'competition'. The Chinese are not competing with anyone. They are just doing this for the betterment of societies and themselves, whereas the western world only wishes to benefit themselves and enslaves those that they can reap benefits off. What has 250 years of colonisation brought India, South America and Africa, abject poverty. Now these regions are getting an opportunity to do something that could benefit themselves, with China's help. As for Japan and US or ESA joing the space program in China, I think we have to be very careful, as an unknown failure or accident could well happen once they left the facilities.

Sorry, as Chinese I can not agree with what you said as my western education experience does not adhere. China, the builder and owner always has a Privilege. It is China's right to decide how to use its own property. China has not obligation to win-win policy. A single win is nothing but a natural right of China as owner/single investor to be recognized by any other party to joint this great cause. Only with such recognition and all the due respect to China, the world can benefit from the right attitude - Appreciate to the founder, rather than taking everything for granted. China does not owe anything to anyone in this cause so far. But the contrary, undertake countless betray and obstacles from so many countries because they followed the USA ban to suit their own interest. That is the fact to respect in the first place before any cooperation. They like to call it a jungle world when hurting China, respect that now.

Tiangong is for天宫, which means palace (宫)above the sky or in the space (天) Shen Zhou is for 神舟, which means spirit or amazing (神)and ship (舟);“神” actually means spirit or deity or GOD,but it has many meanings depends on which Chinese character you put it with; Meng Tian is for 梦天, which means dream (梦)and sky or space(天); Weitian is for 问天, which means ask(问) and sky or space (天); Xuntian is for 巡天,which means perambulate (巡)in the space(天),it’s the survey telescope which will be launched in 2023. About Chinese astronauts‘ name, Liu Bo Ming is for 刘伯明,one for each Chinese character, also tones are essential in Chinese language. So just calling him Boming is not very accurate. Anyway, if you put some efforts on learning Chinese, you may have the chance to get into Chinese space station, I know some Europeans have already done that. I sincerely hope American lawmakers to ditch the Wolf Act to make room for more cooperations in the future.

The core module (named Tianhe) and the 2 Tians (Wentian and Mengtian experimental modules) have functioning backup modules still sitting on the ground. If all 3 backup modules were launched, the CSS, or Tiangong as you put it (Chinese no longer use this name; they just call it space station), will theoretically double in size. The Zhous, Tianzhous and Shenzhou, are cargo and passenger vessels respectively. They're used as ferries to move cargo and people to the space station, usually in matter of hours. That's the nutshell of the CSS for you. Btw, Japan is involved in the CSS and China has never said any particular country is not allowed in the CSS and no law has been passed to such effect.

ISS is the product that was based on the last century's soviet technology. It's old and ageing into its end of life. It's gigantic but ineffective and inefficient because it's been managed and controlled by multiple interest incompatible countries such as Russia and the US as well as others. As its name implies, no single country can claim the ownership of ISS. If there were no Chinese space station popping up in 2021, ISS would have been supposed to be retired by 2024. But it's because China launched its own space station that makes the ISS have additional geopolitical meaning: counter the China's power rise, it must not be retired but be kept up as long as possible, hopefully it'd better outlive the Chinese space station. On the other hand the CSS is solely manufactured and owned by the single one country - China. It's scalable and more manageable due to its design and implementation with the same plan under the same technology. it's modern, adopted many 21th century's technology such as AI, 5G, and new materials. Furthermore, China has incorporated its space programs into the UN agenda, meaning that it's more international and open than the ISS in terms of its inclusiveness and accessibility to more counties including but not limited to the US allies.

hardly any truth in your comment. All modules of the ISS were made this century. And while there might have been technologies developed in the 90s they are long gone and replaced with newer tech. The last module on the ISS was in 2021. Just saying... Oh and btw the CSS is based on the exact same module design introduced by the Soviets. No difference there! Is the CSS an old Soviet tech then? Geopolitical reasons? Like NASA is not China and they will not risk the well-being of the people there in order to safe face. The ISS is perfectly capable of continuing operations. There is no 5G on the CSS! Idk where this lie came from. I see it in other comments as well. There is no 5G YT engineers! The CSS communicate the same way as the ISS - through saatellites. In the case of the CSS 1 satellite. The CSS is more international that only 1 nations operates currently... I know that there are *plans* for more countries but before that happen please do not state plans as facts!

This sounds so over the top and even you know it. What reality? China can't even sent a person beyond the 400km line let alone conducting an interstellar flights. And the CSS is so far behind the ISS that both stations are not even remotely comparable. The ISS looked just like the CSS in the beginning but over 20 years of work and addition of new equipment made it look old school.

When you highlight the Tianhe core module, you've accidentally included the Shenzhou and Tianzhou at both end. Those are crew and cargo crafts, they come and go, not permanent modules.

It’s sad that scientists and engineers across the world have not been allowed to work together and create just one space station. Unity is strength, builds cooperation and would be better for the environment here on Earth and in space 🪐🛰️👩‍🚀👽

MODERN WORLD HISTORY ……THEY WILL NEVER BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES IN WESTERN SCHOOLS AND IN JAPANESE SCHOOLS ON THE HISTORICAL TRUTHS AND THE ATROCITIES COMMITTED 1. Which TWO countries invaded and occupied Indonesia? ANSWER: Netherlands for 350 years Japan for 3.5 years 2. Which country was once the colony master of Malaya & India? Britain 3. Which countries invaded and occupied Vietnam? a. France in 1857-1940 & 1946-1954 b. Japan in 1940-1945#. c. USA (in Southern Vietnam) in 1955-1975. 4. Which countries were responsible for colonisation of the AFRICAN continent? Belgium, Britain, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Italy 5. Which 8 countries were responsible for the occupation of CHINA in early 20th century? Britain, US, Germany, France, Russia, Japan, Italy Austria-Hungary 6. Which countries are responsible for colonising and almost annihilating the AMERICAN NATIVE INDIANS in northern America? France Britain 7. Which country colonised and almost annihilated Aborigines in Australia and New Zealand? Britain From the mid-1820s to 1832, Aboriginal Australians fought a guerrilla warfare against the invading BRTISH colonists in Tasmania, which historians called the Black War. It claimed the lives of 600 to 900 Aboriginal people and nearly annihilating the whole of the island's indigenous population. The near-destruction of the Aboriginal Tasmanians, and the frequent incidence of MASS KILLINGS. has been described by historians as an act of GENOCIDE. 8. Which are the member countries of G7? United Kingdom/Britain Canada France Germany Italy Japan USA 9. COUNTRIES COMMITTED THE WORST CRIME AGAINST CRIME IN THE 20th CENTURY GERMANY against European Jews in WW II JAPAN in the MASSACRE of Chinese in NANKING CHINA between DECEMBER 1937 to JANUARY 1938 BRITAIN in Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, also called Massacre of Amritsar in India by the BRITISH On April 13, 1919, British troops fired on a large crowd of UNARMED Indians in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in the Punjab region (now in Punjab state) of India, killing more than 1,50O Indian civilians over 1,200 other people. The large PEACEFUL crowd had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab to protest against the arrest of pro-Indian independence leaders Dr. Saifuddin Kitchlew and Dr. Satya Pal. 10. WHICH COUNTRIES ENGAGED IN WHOLESALE AFRICAN SLAVERY TRADE BRITAIN and USA Merchant ships set out from Britain, loaded with trade goods which were exchanged on the West African shores for slaves captured by local rulers from deeper inland. The slaves were transported through the infamous "Middle Passage across the Atlantic, and were sold at considerable profit for labour in plantations. It is estimated that Britain transported 3.1 million Africans since 1641, (of whom 2.7 million arrived) to the British colonies in the Caribbean, North and South America and to other countries. Approximately 600,000 of 10 million African slaves made their way into the AMERICAN colonies before the slave trade was banned by Congress in 1808. (BUT SLAVERY WAS NOT BANNED) By 1860, though, the US recorded nearly 4 million enslaved black people - 13% of the population - in the country as the American-born population grew. 11. China is the only major nation on earth that has NEVER invaded or occupied another country. SO WHY do these G7 members see China as a threat to the world ? YOU TELL ME !!!!

So the russian's back in the early 70's could build a solar powered space station. 50 years later back on earth e.g. today's time; Solar energy slowly becomes or became a popular option. it amazes me how different tech categories evolve or need time to do so.

China doesn't have a "modern" architecture. It's basically replicating the old Mir space station modules - same size, same shape, same method of joining separate modules as Mir did, even the same stair-step pressure vessel construction where the base is wide and the top is narrow. They combined Mir's exterior structure and cross-shaped layout with much of the interior copied from the US modules on the ISS. They copied the basic organizational unit of the ISPR (International Standard Payload Rack) and even the metallic cobalt blue foot and handholds. The reason Tiangong looks "clean" is because it's empty. It looks "clean" in exactly the same way a new factory looks clean before it ever gets used or a fake model home looks "clean" because it's empty, empty with no messy kids and pets, dirty laundry, and random detritus, appliances, gadgets, and tangles of cables and wires that you find in homes where people actually live. The ISS is very much active, and lived-in, and busy with activity. If you look at very early footage of ISS, those modules looked just as "clean" as Tiangong does today, because it was also empty and unused.
