Politics is good vs bad to win over the nation Military is quality vs quantity to win over the battle theater so even with a higher quantity production can the quality match it’s limited counterparts as we see in Russia even the quality of soldiers matter more than the quantity take a look at Halo 5 Guardians, the 4 runners is what they call ‘em qualified Spartans vs a few thousand obviously outnumbered but the went through the whole game while probably millions have died by their hands. Just sayin quality not quantity. The quality of our 4th gen fighters vs 5th gen

Reading some of these comments, I think it's dangerous to underestimate any opponent, especially when it comes to something as serious and deadly as war. Of course, the Russian military did not prove to be as... potent as many had thought and feared, but it's better to find out during the conflict that your opponent is weaker than you rather than just assuming so. Chinese fighter jets seem to be well-designed and on par with many Western jets. Even if they're slightly less capable than Western fighter aircraft, sufficient numbers may still be enough to keep up with their Western counterparts. I was China, I would not underestimate the US Air Force and if I was the USA, I would not underestimate the Chinese Air Force

I think that if China has a weakness, it would be the culture of corruption. Russia HAD a huge inventory of stuff, but corruption turned those stockpiles into liabilities. While I expect some of China's gear to be pretty decent, the big question is whether their logistics are in good health. Say, to ensure their amphibious troops can land on a certain piece of land without sinking midway, or finding their rifles firing blanks. If I were a member of USA's intelligence bloc, I would be keeping an eye on whether China is reforming their logistic chain to resist corruption. That would indicate whether China is serious about conquering Taiwan, or is just a papyrus tiger.

@@Hrotiberhtaz Do you think China is completely ignoring what's going on in Ukraine. I'm sure they are studying it in great detail, and parades are not a sign of weakness. "Their premiere J-20 outdoing the F-22's peak production numbers" I'll be honest, given how limited the F-22's production numbers were, that isn't particularly impressive. If they can beat the F-16's production numbers, THEN I'll be impressed, because they crank those things out like crazy.

The problem is China's rather lacking industrial foundation, there are a lot of components that China either has difficulties making with a reasonable budget or simply cannot make themselves, and thus need to be imported, but these components are considered military grade hardware and can only be imported en mass from a handful of countries like Russia. Sometimes I wonder if Russia and China's combined can even keep up with this level of production rate. You can output J-20s and J-16s as fast as F-16s but it won't work if most of them cannot get their engines.

I remember back in 2006 when the F22 contract was cut way back. I was working for a defense subcontractor. We were deeply affected. The excuse was we had the F15 and no one had anything close and we would just never need a fighter like the F22 because no one would ever catch up to us as it was. I was shocked at the stupidity. That was exactly the attitude we had in the 1930s. We had the lead in aircraft technology. By WWII Europe and Japan had left us behind. I grew up listening to people who fought and lived through that war. We could have lost. It was dicey at best at the beginning. Many of the early battles could have gone the other way, and it would have been bad or worse for us. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Another great video Binkov. You know, the bean counting game has always fraught with pitfalls. I think it’s a great indicator of a country’s economic potency (ie: to just build) and to a lesser degree, a country’s future intent. I do think China will attain parity with the US in terms of yearly production, but I don’t think the US in the short or medium term is interested in keeping a production gap over China. Operative Challenge for the US is to replace that aging F15 fleet to the EX standards so they can get greater operability with the F-35s, so that it excels at what is what meant to do, which is relay battle space info to frontline assets. Whether the USAF is granted the budget to do that is well..up to congress. Operative challenge for China is based on whether their young indigenous platforms are a capable enough counter to US platforms in the region and whether whatever doctrine they pursue is successfully conducive to whatever their future intentions are in the region.

When Blinkov said China's expanding floor space he didn't give much context so it's understandable to not appreciating it's implications. To put things into perspective, almost all F-35s are currently assembled at the massive USAF Plant 4 in Fort Worth, Texas. At the same time, just the expansion at China's Chengdu plant over the last 4 years totalled the an area larger than the entire USAF Plant 4, you can see this cleary using Google Earth historical imagery. And that's in addition to the equally massive expansion at Shengyang. In other words, in the last 4 years China added 1.5x to 2x more fighter production capacity than the entire US F-35 production capacity, that's in addition to previous capacity, and those plants are just starting to ramp up. This is naval shipbuilding all over again, planes are harder to count than ships but even then this massive expansion is going to become very obvious in a few years.

@sasquatchycowboy5585

@@jaek__ You know thay aircraft avionics are continuously updated right? Also find a fighter pilot that would choose Fat Amy over the Raptor for air to air engagement. The Raptor is a better air superiority fighter in every way. Which is not a knock on your precious F-35. The Raptor was the replacement for the F-15C the F-35 was the replacement for the F-16 and F-18. Yes they were hoping to get the A-10 gone as well and I think the F-15E. But really the F-16 dose all that anyway. Point is the F-35 can do air to air. The Raptor was built for air to air. And since a real shooting war with China looks more and more likely. And they have fith gens too it would be really really nice to have those Raptors right about now. I suspect this fight will happen long before NGAD if it happens at all.
@jaek__
@jaek__ Жыл бұрын
@@sasquatchycowboy5585 Yes, you would be somewhat correct in that avionics are updated and maintained, but unlike the F-35 the software and sensor enhancements are not nearly at the level they should be, the venerable performance of the F-22 is nothing to scoff at sure, but when I say overhaul I mean overhaul, and that's not a knock at your precious F-22, frankly, she is aging, and needs a makeover, which is, to my knowledge, is what the USAF is looking to do, if you really want a specialized air superiority fighter than you need to ensure that your aircraft is up to date with current iterations of enhancements in all aspects. Besides, it's not like China is fighting us in a complete vacuum, they have to deal with India, Japan, and SK if all out war breaks out, and to my mind, the number of Raptors the USAF has isn't going to be relevant, so long as they are up-to-date. Reading all these comments about one Country being better than the other, I know it is naïve to say, but with everything going on in the world, as individual citizens from the U.S. & China; can’t we all just get along? Yes, our Governments have ideological differences, but it doesn’t mean all of us as individual people from these two Countries have to hate, threaten, or make fun of the other by slandering our differences, or belittling their accomplishments. Let’s be honest, both of our Country’s Governments have done some beyond shady sh*t, so it’s not like one can judge the other on their Government having the moral high ground over the other. In a perfect world, without Governmental doctrine, policies, and agendas revolving around their spheres of influence, and extending the reach if their power across the globe, if we were able take even a fraction of the billions of $$$ & ¥¥¥ allocated to both of our Country’s “defense” budgets to combine with the innovation coming from our Country’s best & brightest in addition to our combined resources (both natural & manpower); the U.S. and China working together, instead of actively at odds (along international cooperation), we would have fully explored the Solar System by now with operational colonies on the Moon, and close to terraforming Mars right now. Unfortunately, a World full of Countries extending olive branches instead of trading bullets is too naïve to ever be a reality. When it comes to Governments, it seems only human for those in power to crave more, and maintaining their power through war & oppressive doctrine over their people will never be out of fashion. As I stated previously, both our Countries are guilty, so neither should be judging the other. We should be thinking of each other as individuals, and not as representatives of our Governmental policies & procedures….. …at least in the KZbin comment sections 😅. *My Adderall prescription is kicking in right now, and most likely explains my rosy perspective, and length of this post I shot from the hip in a few minutes on the subject. Regardless, I stand by it, and my opinion doesn’t matter anyways. Have a good day.

I think most people in the real world share your perspective, when reading KZbin comments you have to remember that the average person is rarely represented here. Most commenters are either government hired trolls or warmongering armchair generals. The vast majority of people I have talked to in real life have generally been relatively friendly and there have been no arguments despite whatever bullshit differences the government of our countries may have . The truth is most people don't really give a fuck about politics. That being said I must say despite U.S having done some majorly shady stuff, the information that have been coming out of China is beyond chilling, those work camps for Muslims is so disgraceful that to compare the two political systems as being equally bad is a bit of a stretch in my biased opinion. what really sets the political systems in the west appart from the rest of the world is that at least we admit when we fucked up, you will never see China or Mr. Putin admit to any wrongdoing ever, however they constantly point fingers at our self-admitted fuck ups. The double standards ...

@@SkeeNnN Well, I personally think that work camps might probably be a propaganda fiction written by the west media. If you know about the 13th amendment loophole, you’ll see that there exists similar stuff in the US as well, just the media decide not to talk about it. China has been having the policy to promote minor races for a long time, and it’s not changing any time soon. They enjoy benefits such as lower entrance requirements for schools and autonomous regions. If you look at the Chinese currency, you’ll see there are 5 different languages printed on those, including Uyghur language. I’d personally recommend you to visit there yourself.

It would be a useless and overly expensive mess that has 0 point. There is literally no need for China to waste that sort of extra money on repainting the stealth coating (Yes both J10Cs and J16 have radar absorbent materials used) every 2 days for "deception" against a non-threat at the moment. Especially when the strategic initiative is on China's side. Might as well just buy more aircraft with that cash.

the problem with the Chinese airforce in the past is the bottle neck in engine tech. They build a bunch of small non blue water ships and rack up tonnage that way. Little coast guard vessels with machine guns, that are good for approximately nothing but countering piracy. They’re a brown water navy. The US has legitimate 11 carrier strike groups and another 9 or so LHA/LHD carrier groups. China has none, they have no force projection, they have no range, and they don’t have the crews or the captains or the experience. The single carrier that’s not in service yet still won’t have the crews or the ability to project any force, 30% less tonnage, 50% of the cargo, less catapults, less elevators, and its not nuclear powered. Their very best is still outclassed by our super carriers built 50 years ago.

@@ChrisDavis333 No that was back in the 80s when the USN wasn't the primary threat. Since the 2000s ships launched from the shipyards are usually in the 4000 tons+ range, mostly being frigates, destroyers, and LHDs.
@ChrisDavis333
@ChrisDavis333 Жыл бұрын
@@dabo5078, it’s not large vessels. Also, I’ve never heard of an LHD being 4,000 tons, 4,000 tons is rather small, an Arleigh Burke class destroyer is about 9-10,000 tons. The Chinese have 1 ship that’s impressive to me, the Type 055, and they’ve been able to produce them fairly quickly. I will give them that ship, that’s about the only concession I’m willing to make at this time. They aren’t a carrier building country in my eyes, so they make up for the tonnage elsewhere, they win in sheer numbers because their doctrine is smaller intercostal/brown water ships. Which frankly makes sense for what they need, they don’t force project across the globe like the US, they defend their “claimed” territorial waters in and around the coast. I’m not shaming them, they have a large navy, just not in the same way as the U.S.
@dabo5078
@dabo5078 Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisDavis333 Uh LHD their producing is 40000 tons with 3 commissioned for service as of now. 4000 tons is the baseline being the Type54 frigate (which is discontinued and replaced by the Type45A). They also build 40% of the world's commercial cargo ships so this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Currently they have 3 proper fleet carriers built, the largest in size in tonnage outside of the United States. Finally the 055 you are impressed with only finished its initial production run of 8 vessels since 2017. 8 more are slated to be finished in the next 4 years along with another "smaller" 6 052DL (8000 tons) coming in 2023-2024 quarter. (2 already finished and going through sea trials) on top of the 8 built 052DLs and the older 25 regular 052D. Plus a whole host of older destroyers and other models such as the 8 discontinued 25000 tons 071 transport dock. PS the Fujian carrier being 80000 tons is tiny compared to the commercial LNG tanker that was in the drydock next to it. Sure the PLAN is smaller in tonnage than the USN (because of the amount of supercarriers) , but it dwarfs every single other navy by several magnitudes both in quantity, quality and tonnage. Finally exercising around Alaska and patrolling the Philippines sea is pretty blue water... They don't go elsewhere since they don't have military interest there yet. It does not mean lack of capability.
