So glad you’re getting along with your projector. Initially it seems a bit of a black art -especially for those of us who started without the sexy new software, but it really is worth the learning curve.

I think it’s amazing - I would like to learn how to use Inkscape or some package to alter patterns later but for now I’m just blown away

Thank you for the review of the projector. You explained it very well. No one needs to be cutting out on the floor 😂 OUCH!

I'm glad your Sew-jo is back! I live in an apartment, and I definitely could not mount a projector, but I love seeing patterns made from it.

It’s such a great process and just offers more options to us all You don’t have to use a amount there are some people on the Facebook group who are unable to put things into their walls, etc so some people just use the stand or prop it up on something

Lovely to see you with your sewjo back and looking so bright and lively. I do love your enthusiasm for your new projector. I don’t mind tracing etc so I had a year’s worth of Fibre Mood magazine and the value is incredible. Going forward I will just buy the magazine as and when I think. Loving the new top and your fabrics. I want the Fleur pattern but don’t actually need it so currently resisting and it is not easy😮. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne

Thanks, Lynne. I was the same with the Fleur but I gave him in the end.😂

I’m up and running with my projector finally. I bought the mini projector (Yoton) that’s recommended on Pattern Projector and OH has fixed it to the ceiling. Seems ok so far but I think I may change it to a UST projector to give me more flexibility. Love your London top 👍🏻

Great vlog Alison, very interesting to hear how the projector works. Also, I keep looking at Fibremood subscription and now you have explained the digital subscription I may give it a go as I’ve seen so many I like. Couldn’t quite figure out how it worked when I was on the website 🤦♀️😂

On the projector files, how do you grade between pattern pieces? Or incorporate other fitting adjustments? I have to do both on every pattern I use, being tall and typically pear shaped.
@SewLikeDotty5 ай бұрын
Hi Jane I’m not an expert at this as I’ve just started the pattern projector Facebook group are really helpful on anything like this. Some animals would be easy, such as in two sizes up and making a line between them I would probably do this with a chalk pen or a marker pen or just use a ruler to put a mark between them. You could project that section onto paper and put the line on it so you’ve got that template for another time. I know somebody recently asked about lengthening and shortening lines and there was a good explanation given of how to do that

Giulia is Julia [Italian] Quite a feat that projector method but sounds really good.

Hi Deb, yes of course I think my projector was about £120 The bulb hours it’s the bulb hours to look for mine has 600 hours used out of 2-3000 a replacement bulb would be about £60-80 I got it from eBay I think a lot are sold on from schools x

Thanks for another really interesting vlog. Love your London top. Might try that pattern. It's great to see your projector process, but not sure what's the benefit of this over paper patterns? Giulia is pronounced Julia. It's just the Italian spelling. ❤
@SewLikeDotty5 ай бұрын
Main thing for me is the paper and printing Plus storage of the patterns too x
