the design is very cadillac-y and rather unappealing and the brand does not have what it takes to be "the world standard". for starters cadillacs are not sold, seen or heard in large part of the world and second it will be the consumers who will decide that. but somehow i feel like the well known luxury brands will keep their share. driving a cadillac just doesnt have the same ring to it compared to high end merc or bentley

Event the Lamborghini SUV looks like Lexus. The Chinese Market follows the Trends, Only reason why EV's are doing well. Cadillac doesn't have much appeal in the Chinese Market because it doesn't have any appeal in the American Market. It will be Dead on Arrival. The next generation of Cadillac the Lyric has had no success. The only reason Cadillac is alive is because there SUV's and GM stock market, which is already falling.. These microwave cars have no appeal to the consumer market. There is NO LINE or Waiting LIST. Therefore DEAD ON ARRIVAL

I really want it to succeed. Casillac badly needs a flagship to be again a really luxury car brand, as of today, it only has small and medium sized cars (CT4 and CT5) with no competitors to E and S class from Mercedes Benz, let alone against Maybach or Flying Spur, etc. It has been ages since there was a uber luxury American car on the market as the 50s Fleetwood

Looks very elegant and stylish and it totally looks like the new version of the divine Citroen CX or SM.

Good to see Cadillac attempting to come back to the "Standard of the World"--however, all the piano gloss black will be a nightmare to keep from showing EVERY scratch, mark, smear, smudge, rock chip, etc. And what is the obsession with no door handles--as this could be another nightmare getting the door to open when the power depletes. They should take lesson from Rolls-Royce where this a door handle with optional auto-open/close. I'm old enough to remember the "golden era" of Cadillac and this could be the brand's resurgence--HOWEVER, keep some of the traditional "analogue" touches with electric modernity. Naturally, Cadillac talks about these great cars (remember the Sixteen, Elimiraj, Ciel, etc) where celebrities and true high-value car buyers wanted to pre-order them and Cadillac reverted back to underpowered "girly wagons" and glorified Suburbans (Escalade--the worst). Once you go down as Cadillac has gone over the past 35 years and it's nearly impossible to come back. Watch out for other bespoke luxury sedans coming from Genesis, Bentley, Aston-Martin, Jaguar and Rolls-Royce--and these carmakers have already been doing this for a few years. I hope Cadillac can come back--but, they're going to have get out of the "corporate" idea of building what the trend is selling. Enough of the damn small crossovers wagons and glorified trucks (Escalade). Go back to a real luxury motorcar!

Sedans will effectively be dead. At least for the normal 3-box designed we're accustomed to, because electric car technology simply won't allow that when it also wants mileage. So that's why every companies will have to change their sedans to a fastback shape from now on, and Cadillac did that too but they did a weird trick on the back end of the car which when you look at it from the front and front quarter view it provides an illusion that it is a traditional sedan.

My first impression was ; I dunno. But then I remembered that a 2D video is a poor medium to judge a 3D object, especially as it relates to cars. I'm not in love with all of Cadillac current products, but there are a couple that do make my eyes linger enough to know that Cadillac (when allowed) can design & build cars that do have presence on the road. So I'm going to take a wait & see approach to seeing this in the flesh before passing judgment on it as so many have already done. ;)

I love the EV options, but taking away the motors are crazy! Realistically hybrid platforms are the best solution for any vehicle. Cadillac should take that tech and bring it to another level as it had in its 100+ years of existence. The Cadillac enthusiast/customer as well as the luxury car owner has always said “it just needs a little more refinement to compete direct with the German brands. The outside has been stunning since the CTS in ‘03, the interiors always lacked that detail (which we would pay for) that we now see in the new EV models. The CT6 had so much potential to be a “German Sedan Killer” and to only offer the new models to China id disappointing. Cadillac is my favorite brand for cars. I accept that your trying to be another TESLA by wanting to be an all EV brand, but that is not what Cadillac is…it should be that “coach builder” it once was, being available to every luxury vehicle customer and show the world why Cadillac was and could be the “standard” in the luxury segment. The Escalade shouldn’t be the only proven Halo line you have and the CT6/Escala sedan could be that car (including the Blackwings of course)! Another thing to think about with a open mind, Imagine a Black wing vehicle with the E-ray technology?!…OMG! Please don’t make this AMERICAN Legend of a company a trend, make it an inspiration!

I have to add to my previous observations about this potentially great car from Cadillac. The interior is lacking in bespoke elements--such as custom accessories like Rolls-Royce offers: multitudes of veneers, woods, glass, stone, etc trim--seat configurations with and without refrigerators, cigar compartments, fold down or out work/picnic tables, hidden screens for back seat passengers. These shown look "stuck on" on to the back of the front seats and block the "road view" of the back-seat passengers. RR and other high-end luxury carmakers have hideaway video screens. There's a real talent and art to having modern technology and old-world bespoke elegance in these car interiors. And no one in this price point wants to feel as if they're sitting in a sterile laptop. Add some bespoke warm elegance Cadillac and you should have a contender with the "big boys" again (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, etc).

I love that Cadillac did this. New from the bottom up, an all American, kiss my ass, outrageous, made to order electric CAR, not an SUV, which is a truck. Huge, elegant, but only 4 seats so it’s chic. Ferrari did the Roma model which says the same thing in Italian. No one else is doing modern glamour. RR is stupid, as is Bentley, Bugatti, Audi, Mercedes, Teslas design is weak. Cool ride. I sent this to every client of mine. 5 are ordering. Go Detroit.

The Europeans cannot match the Technology , the Asians cannot match the elegance, the rest of them just cannot match the sheer integration of technology and design, throw in cruise missile level of self driving capabilities , and even Tesla is outdone by the advanced self driving.. Cadillac is truly back. Now if only we can see some of that second row elegance in the Escalade…
