I stayed several weeks at La Palma, often described as isla bonita or isla verde (the beautiful or the "green" island) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disregarding the dusk-to-dawn curfew at some times there're worse places to be ;-)
At one night I declared the Salinas de Fuancaliente at the south tip of the island with it's small old and the operational newer lighthouse as my home. Because of some clouds, wind guests and additionally my friend calima (dust from the nearby sahara desert), I thought to leave the spot but my desire for an one hour drive was even lower.
Not the best conditions for stargazing but I got a nice meteor and a train of starlinks traveling through the sky gight before dawn with the milky way still visible.
First goal for this short was just a single timelapse because of a discussion about the light pollution from satellites like the starlinks. But hey - there was a minute from the music by Olexy from Pixabay (pixabay.com/music/id-122841/) left and some nice shots from the nightsky at other places and the volcanic eruption - so enjoy La Isla Bonita :-)
