Visiting La Zamora Beach | Fuencaliente | La Palma | Canary Island

One of the things and activities that you can do while you are visiting and staying at the Esencia de La Palma Hotel, is visiting the La Zamora Beach. I didn’t know what to expect from La Zamora Beach, but I knew that I wanted to go to the restaurant nearby La Zamora beach. Everywhere, where I go in Spain, I have to taste the calamari! During the years, I have made it a thing for myself hihi. I did it also in Madrid, Cadiz and all the other places that I have visited. So went I planned my trip to La Palma, I already knew that eating Calamari was op the top of my list.
Around the Esencia de La Palma hotel, there is also a beautiful road where you can walk. At first, I thought that it was the road to La Zamora Beach, but it was just a beautiful little hiking trail around the hotel. The friendly receptionist told me that it was a 15 or 20 minutes walk, so if you don’t get lost or distracted, it will just take you 20 minutes by foot to the La Zamora beach. It took me a bit more than 40 minutes, first I walked around the hotel and then I finally found the road that led us to the La Zamora beach.
During the walk, I also took a lot of stops to take photos of the banana plantations and the beautiful surroundings of Fuencaliente. If you walk directly to the beach, it will take you maybe around 15 minutes.
One of the things that I love the most about La Zamora beach is the ocean, I was so happy to feel the cold water of the Atlantic ocean under my feet. It feels fresh and full of energy to reload myself. Unfortunately, it was too dangerous to go into the water, the current was strong and in the way how the waves smashes their force on the surface, it was better just to feel the cold water with my feet. During travel is your safety always first.
After a while of enjoying the beach and the ocean, it was time for lunch. At the La Zamora beach, there is also a small local restaurant where you can eat delicious calamari. The receptionist who gave me the tip to visit the restaurant was right, the calamari was very good there. What I also liked was the local experience, together with my new friend, we enjoyed our lunch surrounded by the local people. It was an experience to never forget.
So visiting the La Zamora beach is a tip, from me, for you!
