Dizzy Gillespie's wonderful old tune comes to life again in this fantastic version of shifting colours and superb section work, the latin percussion just right and the solos great - especially the trumpet -( Josh or Rigo?) - who is it?. Is that sax solo by Drew Zaremba? That final trumpet flourish might well have been Dizzy back among us. I know he would have loved it.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comment. Josh is the trumpet soloist on this one and Drew the alto. The band did a wonderful job with it all and I'm grateful you enjoyed it too!

@@ToshiClinchProductions I always hope Josh is happy. I know after the One O'Clock Lab Band he joined the military - I would have hated the army myself (I'm British). He is such a fantastic player, he deserves the best of everything and to be happy.

@@alangiles2763 From the conversations we have had in the last few years he seems to be loving life and is getting a lot of fantastic opportunities in the DC area. The Army Blues gives him a considerable amount of freedom compared to other military ensembles, which probably helps him have a varied musical career while still having a full time job.

@@ToshiClinchProductions I am really happy to hear that, Toshi. We have a great trumpet player in this country named Dick Pearce (he worked for years with Ronnie Scott - there are some You Tubes of him, though I believe he is retired now). He joined the army in his late teens because he hoped to get playing opportunities but these were mainly just playing fanfares sitting on a horse). He really was disappointed. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up over here! I am really glad Josh is content - he and another trumpet player from The One O'Clock Lab band - Austin Ford are, in my opinion, two of the greatest young players in years, as an OLD trumpet player myself it always gives me tremendous pleasure to hear exceptional talent like them, who are modern and forward thinking, but know their history and the Great American Songbook. Next time you talk to him please give him my best wishes from a friend he has never met in Britain. If I were in a position to book them, here in Britain I would do it in a heartbeat.

@@alangiles2763 I will definitely pass on your message the next time I chat with Josh. It is so great that we can all share the love for music regardless of location and age!
