@@call132 Honestly, she does a good job of portraying someone who's just *exhausted* - which is perfect for a character who's desperately trying to avoid sleeping. I will say, though, the remake has one line in particular that is just *horrifying* - post-kill, Freddy just explains "Did you know that after the heart stops beating, the brain keeps functioning for well over 7 mintues? We got 6 more minutes to play."

I always thought that Nancy realizes at the very end of the movie that it is her mother's dream that she is in, not hers. Nancy has defeated Freddy at this point, so he can't come after her in Nancy's, or her friend's dreams. The sequence with the car is Freddy simply moving Nancy and her friends out of the picture, so he can then proceed to attack one of the people he really hates, Nancy's mom. Nancy's shouts of "Mother!" is our heroine desperately trying to get her mom to wake up from the dream before Freddy gets her. Part 2 of the franchise does give the audience one, brief line of dialogue about the final fate of Nancy's mom.

Well around part 4 was when they became a little more tongue-in-cheek, though Freddy always had a sense of humor. Part 3 still retained an air of mystery to his character, which made him all the more menacing. It was also likely the best sequel in the series from a production POV; as well as having a great cast, and story to further expound upon the original. There were some terrifying moments in Dream Warriors, other events and a host of excellent effects that particularly stand out in memory.

Fun fact: the room Tina is killed in was a rotating room. So when she was on the floor she was actually om the ceiling and vise versa. Its the same room they use for Glens death when the blood shoots out the bed. When Nancy gets pulled in the tub shes actually on top of a tank and production designer Jim Doyle was in the hole in the tub connected to the tank with the glove. When shes pulled in that shot is in a pool with a tarp over it so you can tell how deep they are in the water. :) and the wall is spandex when freddy leans out the wall over in the beginning of the film. Practical filmmaking that made me wanna become an actor and director

Whoooweeee!!! Y’all had me rolling again!😂😂😂😂 That last jump scare reaction is everything!! I was 13 years old and in middle school when this came out. There was so much buzz about this movie when it was first released. But again, I was too young to see it in theaters. You might remember my post on your Friday the 13th reaction how I tricked my cousin to sneak into the theater to see that film. Well anyway, my parents bought our first VCR in 1983. Not everyone had one but the were really gaining momentum as most families by 1984 had one. This meant we could watch any movie at home before it would hit cable tv. And when a Nightmare on Elm Street was released on videotape, my mother actually rented it. I was surprised my mother allowed us to watch it. But we loved it! And yes; it scared the hell out of us too. But it was more psychological because of the dreams or nightmares and the situations the characters found themselves in which made for a pretty good watch. Wes Craven directed this one. He also directed Scream. In Scream, he threw in a few nods to A Nightmare on Elm Street. BJ, you actually caught one of them when you mentioned Johnny Depp sneaking up on Heather Langenkamp’s (Nancy) bedroom window scaring her. Wes Craven put that as an homage when Billy does the same to Sidney in Scream. The other nod was when the principal is being tormented at Woodsboro High School, he opens the office door out to the hallway and the janitor is mopping the floor. The guy mopping the floor is Wes Craven. He’s also dressed in the green and red sweater. Principal Himbry also refers to him as “Fred” as in Fred (Freddy) Kruger. Anyway, just some fun facts for y’all. The other thing you have to remember. Back then, studios didn’t give much in terms of budget for making these films. If you look these movies up on Google (Halloween, Friday the 13th & A Nightmare on Elm Street), you’ll see that all of them were made on a shoestring budget. And yet, they managed to far exceed expectations and be very successful movies earning a hell of a lot of money. A lot of credit goes out to directors like John Carpenter and Wes Craven. It was Wes Craven who revitalized the horror movies again with Scream. Sorry; I know it’s a lot of info. But had to share with you both. Can’t wait for the next one!!🥰🎃❤️🙌🏼

My parents thought it was a good idea to allow me to watch this at age 6 or 7. 😒 Kruger was the main monster in my nightmares. I had nightmares of him for years. It's nightmare fuel for sure. 😣 Great reaction by the way!

Just started this reaction. I remember this movie scared a ton of children into trying to stay awake back in the day 😂 If you don't understand the whole dream/awake thing. Basically Freddy can invade your dreams and attack you as long as you're afraid of him. *HE* controls the dreams, which is why the beginning was Tina running in a boiler room, his home base so to speak. Seeing as there was a rumour in the old days that if you died in your dreams you died in real life, they played off that. Whatever happens to you in your dreams happens to you in real life...hence the cuts on Tina's robes & stomach. Also knowing what came later when you said the "there's so much blood" comment, I just smirked 😂

At the end, Nancy realized that she was dreaming. She never woke up after she thought she pulled Freddy from the dream. That's how she was able to defeat him. And after that, she ended up in her mother's dream, that's why it was all sunny and perfect..until the freddy convertible

Man, this movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The idea of something haunts you in your sleep was brilliant. We can only live so long without sleep and you can only fight sleep but so long and then you go whether you want to or not. That is what made it so scary. This movie is in the Top 10 best horror movies of all time. There are sequels as well.

I saw this late 80's when i was 5 and i couldn't sleep for months. Even now ill still have an occasional Freddy Krueger dream. Wes Craven was a genius. Great vid guys.

Asia, in the beginning, when you mentioned a movie with "red eyes looking in through the window" - that might be from The Amityville Horror. It's a paranormal/haunted house movie that came out 3 years before Poltergeist. 11:56 I laughed here because both of you and I had the same reaction to "Is somebody there?" - 3 words that translate to "I'm about to die".

I saw this movie when I was a kid at a three movie event at school, first cartoon for younger kids, action for next movie and then horror. This movie was horror saw part of it and went home, was so dam spooked was afraid to turn off the light t go to bed, and when I did, I threw myself across the room a full five feet in the air to land on my bed. Next morning was still dark and was up ran to turn my light on froze when I thought saw someone at the foot of my bed for five minutes before finally turned on the lights. Was some crumpled clothes..LOL. but man this movie scared me for life!
