I gotta go with the F13th set, as I love the artwork and I prefer it as a franchise aswell, plus it's an official English release. I do like the artwork on the Elm Street boxset, but the Nightmare Memories title really bothers me for some reason. Can't wait to see more of these battle vids, as it's a great idea and I hope that Basket Case set is in one of the battles vid.

That is a valid point and I completely understand. Don't know why they couldn't put the title of Nightmare on Elm Street on the box and I do prefer Friday the 13th as a franchise. I'm like you John. I love the Friday the 13th movies and I always preferred the franchise over nightmare. But when it does come to the box sets Nightmare on Elm Street hands-down is my favourite. It is a close call like you said but I think when you look at the nightmare box set you know it's going to last for years where the Friday the 13th set is a little flimsy. Thanks for your vote John.

Actually while both versions are limited, it's the A Nightmare On Elm Street mediabooks with the regular book binding - not the quilted covers - that were limited to 1000.

I also have the complete set of (quilted) ANOES mediabooks, and the Never Sleep Again 1&2 one and the Friday The 13th Scream Factory set, but I have not unsealed either one, aside from the Never Sleep Again mediabook, which I opened and confirmed that the Never Sleep Again disc is Region B locked, while the "I Am Nancy" disc is region free.

Unfortunately my Nightmare on Elm Street set was second hand so I never had the luxury of keeping it sealed. It really is a fantastic edition and I would love buy some protective case to put it into just to get that extra peace of mind

Here’s my take on them. Friday the 13th has the better outer box art, but Freddy’s interior packaging blows Friday away. Those digibooks are great and keeping the original art was genius. So just based on over packaging, I’d go with Freddy. But both are excellent. Great video!

I thought the exact same. The artwork on Friday the 13th looks spectacular but it doesn't hold a candle to the Mediabooks you get with nightmare. The artwork on each title looks fantastic. Thanks so much for checking it out

Great video matey. Don’t know if I want a new 4K quality of a nightmare on elm street. The grain and darkness gives it that dreamlike quality. Cleaning it up could take away from its atmosphere

Believe it or not John going by the comments I think people prefer the Friday movies instead of Nightmare but they think the nightmare box set is far better and that's what I was hoping they would do. Everyone seem to have put their feelings aside for the movies they love and voted for the box set instead. Don't ever apologise for having an opinion John. I picked up the nightmare boxset from Germany but to be fair there is absolutely no chance of ever getting it. They are incredibly rare and if you do find one chances are you'll have to spend a fortune.

For the corners of the box your could dab it with a black sharpie pen. I tend to do that with boxes and slipcovers that have wear on the black corners, then just rub it slightly with your finger to make it blend in

Hey Gordon. The nightmare set is probably one of my prized possessions in my collection. It's one thing to get the mediabooks but to actually get the box itself is another thing entirely. You have to understand when this edition got first released you never got that box with them it had to be bought separately. It's very strange but that's how it was done. The F13 boxset is incredible as well....these are jam-packed, top-notch sets...for me the NOES set wins out. There was a time when Nightmare on Elm Street look great on Blu-ray but unfortunately it it hasn't aged well. When you see the treatments that Friday the 13th or Halloween get it really does put nightmares transfer to shame. No you're absolutely right. I kind of figured that there was no way they would do a 4K box set for the entire collection. Especially when you see certain collections like Star Trek and even Halloween now where the first couple of movies are only getting a 4K treatment. I choose Friday The 13th! I much prefer the UK covers for the Elm Street Films. Most of those are the US artwork. Which is strange coz that's a German release and region B! I might be in the minority here, but I would prefer them all to be released in the UK separately with the original UK artwork!

Hey Kyle always great to meet a fellow Irish man. The Nightmare on Elm Street box set is very very rare. I purchased mine on eBay. It's a very strange release because you have to buy the cardboard box separately and I think I bought that from a German company but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it. The Friday the 13th box set is very simple all you have to do is go on to amazon.com and you will find it there. The last time I checked that boxset it was going for very cheap. It's incredibly rare. As far as I remember I think there is only 1000 of them. Your best chance would be eBay

I'm actually weird and hate digipak/digibook style, and I'm also not a fan of steelbooks either surprisingly. Maybe because they don't look uniform on a shelf, and from my experience tend to be extremely fragile when it comes to getting scratches, or the corners getting nicked similar to your F13th box outer box. So I prefer the Friday the 13th set. But both of these look really cool. Hopefully I have a chance to pick up the Friday set at some point, and they bring over a version of the Nightmare on Elm Street to the US.

No I completely understand that. Mediabooks and steelbooks are not for everybody. I have separate shelves for all my steelbooks and mediabook and I find they do look quite well together. great info, I'm thinking of paying good money for both sets on Amazon so I can get both collections with crushed corners and lose disc, I bought the old original nightmare on elm street complete box set and the Amazon driver used it to sit on while making his deliveries, it arrived to me shaped like a basketball and I returned it for a full refund, I have to see my products in hand now before I purchase, I really think some people believe as long as the disc play it's alright and they don't realize most people want their products mint with nice corners and no dings or scratches, sorry I'm just letting off a little steam...LOL!

No I completely get where you're coming from my friend. I always want my boxset in pristine condition. Unfortunately with this Friday the 13th boxset I've already started to notice shelfware coming on it and that's kind of scary when you think about it because I don't even have it that long. The Nightmare on Elm Street box is built like a house and you just know that this will always look pristine. I do think both are definitely worth buying but if you can get the Nightmare on Elm Street box set I would get that one over Friday because it's so unbelievably rare. We all have to let off a bit of steam every now and again I completely understand

Unfortunately Friday the 13th have not been released on 4k and to be honest I can't see it happening anytime soon because they just released this box set from scream factory in the last year and I don't think they'll be in a rush to do the 4K treatment on them at this moment in time. Find the exact same as you Ben. I definitely prefer the Friday the 13th as a franchise but the Nightmare on Elm Street box set is head and shoulders above the Friday one. Thanks for your vote.

I really like the Nightmare box set as the packaging and art work is amazing thou the Friday the 13th box would Be my favorite as I am more of a Jason fan, but I used to own the nightmare collection on Blu-Ray a few years Ago that i wasn't impressed with cause they put two nightmare movies on one disc that was a disappointment So I stuck to having the DVD box set, thou the nightmare movies has been released again in the UK with each Movies to there own disc on Blu-Ray.

Yeah I'm just like you you. I I prefer the nightmare box set but I'm a massive fan of Friday the 13th. I also hate the way you have two films on one disc. I think what we need is a scream factory release of Nightmare on Elm Street. The transfers are decent on this box set but there's definitely room for improvement. I'm sure it will happen sometime. You didn't like part 2? Whaaat? Lol the first 3 are my favorite movies of the series. Yeah it's different but they hadn't established every rule in the series yet.

Yeah part 2 never sat well with me. I don't know why but I think if you watch part 1 and 3 there's a huge leap in quality and entertainment over part 2. But that's just my opinion. I'm very strange when it comes to the nightmare franchise I could watch one of the movies and love it and then watch it again and not think much of it and vice versa
