Oh your cats are so precious. They look very content and no wonder, they have your lovely energy to keep them calm.

They are-so loving with us but are skittery around strangers. Their mother was feral and perhaps inherited a built in suspicion of potential dangers?

@@thederb720 Well you have given them a beautiful gift of a calm and loving home.

Blanche, I look forward to your videos! I'm a 38 year old mother in Portland Oregon. I love learning about plants, and I love that I can watch your videos with my family. My 9 year old son watches them with me. They are always so calming and informative! A true rarity these days. Thank you for continuing to educate and create. You are so admired by us. Cheers!

I'm especially glad you're sharing my videos with your son; we need to inspire the next generation to appreciate the bounty that's all around us.

Hi Blanche! We get so excited when we see a notification you've posted! As always you teach us something in every video! On our next walk in our backyard we are going to look around, maybe we have it growing out there! I like the tea idea! Your cats are beautiful, especially while they are enjoying their catnip nap! Great video Blanche! -P & J

Thank you so much! I'm probably not going to post for awhile--so much harvesting/putting by everything. Plus I start editing next year's posts in the colder months--which takes me a long time. During this period I may post short snippets on instagram & my Facebook page (those addresses are listed under my written info underneath my catnip vid). --They won't be as complete as my YT vids.

When I was poor and still smoking , I use to smoke catmint with or without camomille and it cured my insomnia better than a zopiclone.😊

Hmmm. I wonder if making a strong steeped beverage from catmint would yield the same results...

@@thederb720 I don't know cause I use to eat quite a few sprigs when harvesting and did not notice the effect on my sleep and I never tried to drink as much tea as I smoked in a day but I think too much nepeta can give you a tummy ache as the smoke is absorbed through your lungs. Also I red differents effects between steeping and vaporising essentiel oils of the same plants. Some terpens must not be water soluble. :)

What an adorable video!!! My cat Olive likes catnip too when I give her a fresh leaf now and again. It grows randomly around our property. Thanks for the video!

As you probably have guessed, I'm a cat person. I always look forward to their reactions to the world around them--so curious, so playful!.

I guess I have the catmint types. Purrsian Blue I think they are called. I also have a Greek version that has a really nice smell. For some reason I can't seem to get my cat interested in them.

Does your cat like regular catnip? Have you tried dried catmint--my cats liked it but not the fresh leaves. Some cats just don't like either of the "cat" plants plants; i'm fortunate that my two do!

I am @ blanche.derby but I'm remiss as of late--busy harvesting both wild and cultivated plants.
