You need to fit a narrow beam spotlight that is pointed upward to create your very own light pillar - make a great drone shot, it will look like you are being beamed up 🙂
@MispronouncedAdventures7 ай бұрын
My forward facing lights produced light pillars, I got drone footage of them in previous years. That’s how the atmospheric phenomenon works. It doesn’t matter what direction the light points due to the ice crystal structure in the atmosphere it’s projected vertically.
@Lee_Proffit7 ай бұрын
@@MispronouncedAdventures But wouldn't a light shone vertically up through the horizontal flakes / crystal make a better light pillar ?

I've seen a few people this year go to Lofoten and no one has mentioned the Commando raid - CLAYMORE, Enigma machine, or the telegram to Hitler. Don't know if you've covered that in previous years - I need to get caught up on your previously mispronounced adventures. Somewhere I've wanted to go sonce I was a kid (and I'm now knocking on 50 - where did that go?!?). Just thought I'd mention it in the unlikely event you're not aware ... there's always next year 😁👍

What an awesome experience. I'm planning a trip to this area on next winter to see the auroras and some real winter landscapes (sadly only for a week or so, probably renting an rv in January, not sure where yet). On which month you were the scenes of the "waterfalls" recorded ? I was expecting to be much darker so it was a surprise to see so much daylight on the video. Thanks !!
@MispronouncedAdventures6 ай бұрын
Early February this was recorded. As for the amount of daylight, it does probably get a bit skewed on video. As I do a lot of my recording during the day light hours so stuff is visible. i’m also not too far into the Arctic Circle so polar night has passed in this area. Enjoy your Trip!

I’ve been whacked by some pretty powerful drones but never had it that bad. Must’ve gotten really unlucky.
@MispronouncedAdventures7 ай бұрын
Yes, unfortunately complacency at my end using a drone. I think since it hit lengthways up the side of my finger the skin is far softer and thinner there than it would be on the pad. Although it did also cut straight through the nail bed as well

Welcome to the neighborhood I hope you've got studded tires on the van.
@MispronouncedAdventures7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. I don’t use studs, it was my third winter living in the van up here. I find with my heavy rear wheel drive van I have plenty of traction on 99% of the roads I’ve come across in the last three winters. Although the first year I did have the intention to rent a set of studded tyres and leave mine in a tire hotel for the winter. Quite a few of the front wheel drive vans who come up swap to stud however many of the rear wheel drive ones dont experience the same issue of traction.
