I wish I could replay Gen 5 games for the first time again. Just being a kid. Having nothing else to do but immerse myself in these games. Dam this takes me back a decade to another state of mind and in a whole other place. I remember how much I loved B&W and then B&W 2 as a child, I always loved the Pokemon game themes and the TV season themes. That's more than half of what I would listen to as a child on youtube along with youtube tutorials from PurpleRodri. My life was just centred around playing and watching Pokemon (and ATLA) as a child, I also remember how badly I wanted the Pokemon cards. I remember playing thr original B&W and Soul Silver with my brother under our beds in the early mornings of Saturday hoping not to be caught, the nostalgia trip I get when I listen to Pokemon themes and soundtracks is really strong. My life wasn't perfect but these were some of the happiest moments; I don't like to have the mindset that I can't recreate times as happy as these but it sure won't be easy because as simple as this was, it was so blissfull. That's enough nostalgia off my chest, I'll just go back to listening and relaxing again ÷)

Cant believe the (from my perspective) kids that did grow up with Gen 5 are allrdy in that age now where they miss "the good old day".... for me its the same but with Gen 1 actually. But im rly glad Pokemon as a franchise still made such childhood memories for so long after me. I was allrdy 22 when Black and White came out.... but i played all gens until today (scarlet+Violet) since 1996. I have to say Gen 5 truly was a masterpiece. And....if i put the nostalgia-glasses away i have for gen 1 and 2... it was probably objectively the best mainline game. Treasure those memories Zoomers.... childhood was the easiest and most enjoyable part of life... but u still can have a great future. Start early with improoving. The only thing i can advice you as a 35 yr old is: Start investing ( if its only small amounts) in your 20s and hit the gym. But never let go of the nerdy things you enjoy. Master both worlds. The virtual and the real. Otherwise im sure u will find your way.

@@yoman5029 Oh i truly enjoyed my childhood and the time it was in. But tbh i think thats a general human thing. Basically any generation starts to miss "The good ol days" once. Its more of a psychological thing than truly based on facts. However... i understand you when it comes to pokemon. As much good memories i have with Red/Blue... Gen Wunners who claim "its the only real pokemon and best there ever was" are delusional cuz of nostalgic feelings. Red/Blue is OBJECTIVELY far away from being "the best Pokemon".

It's been so long since I've heard Animal Crossing City Folk music. Playing it with my parents and each of us having our own nice houses. Visiting each other's houses to admire the decorations and see us sleep in the attic. Playing with a school friend through Nintendo WFC while talking to him on the landline. Surrounding him with pitfalls while he was away eating dinner. Going to the city by bus and shopping with the good music. Thank you, truly, for making me hear that again and relive those memories. Now I'm way older and can play Animal Crossing New Horizons all day long but it will never be as good as the old times. (Not to mention how good the Gen 5 soundtrack is and remembering that as my true first Pokemon game as a kid).

everytime we were moving with our family, going for vacacions, at the grand pa house, we had those few games, finished since long ago. But even if it was finished, we couldn't stop playing it. Why ? Why would you play the same game for years even if you had nothing much to do on ? On a game where you are the only one real person.. how could you stay there ? Now we would feel like you know... wasting time. Nowadays, we have learned to count every second when we have some free time. Yea that's a feeling we will probably never meet again.. These games feel like home. This year, I had to move to a new student appartment, with no connexion (since it is under the ground lvl (-2)). So I tried to play again. I did black 1, black 2, platine, soul silver, with my old nintendo ds. It was not the same feeling, but still felt like I was at home. At the end, I can't not think about the fact that, one day, we will be nostalgic about today.. we bless these good old memories like a part of ourselves that absolutly no one knows, even our parents, but what about today ? Dude even if I struggle every days with uni, even if I could have a better life, live a better 20's hood, I'm so fcking glad to be alive, even if no one know about the several places that I can call home, even if it's not real.. a friend house, a game, a movie, a memorie... what about today ? how will I feel about today in 10 years ?

Now these were the days man... when Pokémon still felt like Pokémon, it saddens my soul that OG Pokémon is now a thing of the past. Like for every one newbie player their is still dozens of OG Veterans the games should be aimed at the majority audience not at a bunch of kids who won't really grasp how far its come and the fact they weren't around when it first started. I hate TPCi Gamefreak for not listening to the OG audiences of which these games were originally directed towards. Like why should any new generations get to play these games they'll just sully and ruin it all. Like they've done everything else already.
