The seed heads are stickery and catch seeds of other plants especially grasses and then that seed sprouts. Teasel does that too.

Ooh didn't think of that, how interesting. These definitely not grasses but could be something other than the burdock itself! I wonder what they'd turn into (frost will probably kill them though 😅)

I do this often and I took my students outside on the playground to do this during my 35 year teaching career. It is amazing what the children would find and draw. It calmed all of us and connected us to the little stands of nature we could find just outside our classroom door; cracks in the blacktop filled with moss and dandelions, puddles evaporating throughout the day, mushrooms sprouting in the shade of hedges and the birds visiting our class birdfeeders. Thank you for sharing your walk! It is beautiful!

That paints a beautiful picture. It is amazing that nature finds it's way back into urban areas. I'm certain it'll outlast us and flourish everywhere, but for now we have the opportunity to take time to appreciate it where we find it 🙂

What a wonderful idea to remain rooted in several areas for 10 minutes apiece! I’ll definitely settle in, and immerse myself in the moment on the next hike! Thank you, Alex-for always inspiring, and being generous in sharing your journaling!

Thank you for that lovely sunny walk and all your observations. I have seen teasel sprouting seedlings. It looks very strange. Like you I look forward to some bright frosty weather, all this fog is dreary.

The fog is driving me nuts, though it does make for some good photographs. It's just cold and damp and endless... I miss the sunshine of this video for sure, hoping for a nice cold bright morning to go for a swim! 🤞🤞

loved it. I've done a sit spot recently and enjoyed seeing what came by --Downey woodpeckers, chikadees, towhees, golden crowned sparrows and white crowned sparrows and a fox sparrow. I live in SW Oregon

Wow, I don't know many of those things, they sound very exotic to me 😁😁

Lovely video. It is a bit concerning how mild our autumn has been. I'm hoping it doesn't mean we have a late winter because as much as we need winter I also like when its over and done with :)

Absolutely agree! Seems like our worst weather now comes in February and March, just as we are most desperate for spring 😅

lovely report! your voice is so soothing as well ! its like going for a walk with a friend! thank you for sharing!

Thank you, that's exactly the vibe I'm going for. My voice annoys me sometimes because I am a sensitive soul and cannot shout at all 😅 So I guess my videos will always have that soothing aspect as I can't manage the loud and energetic that many other KZbinrs go for.
