This starving creature is probably Fairy Dog😂. They are guardians of places between the world. Sometimes they representes as "hounds of underworld" they fly through the night sky to pursue their quarry. This is a lot of work, so probably this is the reason why they look so hungry 😅

That would make more sense 😅 I haven’t found much discussion on those yet (granted, I haven’t gone off searching a lot into Celtic things) so hopefully the book discusses it a bit lol
