Absolutely loving this out fo my comfort zone "shows the reality of big water winter fishing" and nufish channel the mixing bowl is a great idea 💡 ya got to chill next to the fire tho mick was so relaxed and you so jumpy at the cracking 🔥 😂i grew up in a open fire house n was my job as a teenager to be cheif fire officer of the house when dad was down pit ❤

Joe so frustrating, you think you have your plan right, nothing and back to the drawing board. Having said that if there are no fish in the area there’s not a lot you can do,like you said you were in between 2 great anglers and they struggled so in good company. I watched the mixing bowl podcast really enjoyed it. Keep them coming

Hard lines joe.Deffo not doing much wrong(imo) cos the master can't get a bite at side of you all be it a couple of pegs away! I think we all know fish in the depths of winter don't move much if at all ,so your on a few fish or you ain't.When I used to go regularly the dead tree was always a good area ,probably different today cos size of fish in there? Good luck in your next match on there and who knows ,your tip might go round half s dozen times! Cheers.

This has been my winter fishing so far.... Is the bottom composition different in that area or perhaps the bottom contour? Are your feeders sitting in silt? Wonder if the change in the bank contour reflects a underwater feature like a gully or depression. The contour/depth line that the Carp like to patrol along may be different than the straighter banks each side. You've got waayyy more patience than me. Hate a blank. Think I would assume that this was an area where the Carp don't like feeding in winter so I try would to 'get in their face' and work on getting a 'curiousity bite' rather than a feeding bite. May put in mainly low feed ground bait and liquid flavours to create a plume of flavour through the water that spreads with the wind and tow. On really bad days I actually fish for the silvers switching between maggot and sweetcorn on the hook and the carp eventually rock up as shoals of silvers catch their attention and they muscle in.

I fished a small match yesterday. Most of the lake was frozen over, only 4 people were stupid enough to turn up for it in this weather 😂. We broke the ice and fished 9 till 3 and not one of us could buy a bite😭 Nice to know it's not just me then🤣
