always found this one a bit weird since the writing goes so far up and down in quality that I genuinely wonder if it isn't multiple people instead of the normal reason of the writer approaching writing the same way a manga artist approaches art: extreme refinement in where and how you spend your time and effort in the production process + they _want_ 90% of their content to be basically cut and paste even before that effort assessment. one thing to note that is kinda spoilery but also rather important and *really* hard to pick up on in the anime: the main character is legitimately something of a badass in their own right it's not just a case of getting turned into their OP game character, short version? that "skillmaster" title you hear mentioned from time to time means a LOT and it has way more to do with the player's skill and achievements than the power or "achievements" of their character. you can think of her (the player) as a reclusive researcher who in-game picked up a knack for pvp in the process of constantly dealing with people trying to kidnap her (in-game, just to be clear) to profit from her work and as a result she eventually developed that "defend yourself from annoying jerks" skillset to the point where she was attacking armies of players as a method for testing and developing her work...that is probably "armies" in the videogame number scale of hundreds that you can get up to with some very clever net code but we're not talking about hundreds of mooks here we're talking about her fighting hundreds of players who mostly have characters who are near-par with her own character's stats in raw power. the only difference was their skillset and how well they could make use of it which again were based mostly on the player's skill and effort. the horrifying reputation she has in the game world is because in-game and from an npc's perspective that translated to her just showing up out of the blue and wiping out entire factions of basically-gods. to the normal people of the world the girl was a friggin' wandering natural disaster _for the other wandering natural disasters_ the way skills worked in that game was that they were player created techniques and required about as much development as you would expect something like that to take if magic were both real and about as complex as a secondary set of physics interacting with the normal ones. a "skillmaster" was a player who managed to 1. learn every currently existing skill in the game, 2. add at least one skill to the game that is fundamentally different-from any current skill or at least superior-to all existing comparable skills, and 3. overcome all of the trials set by all of the currently existing skillmasters and _none_ of them made that easy though only a couple actually went full Kaizo-gamer and made it outright traumatic. learning skills was easier for PCs than NPCs since they had some shortcuts available but developing new ones was still something akin to a doctorate thesis once all the low hanging fruit was filled in, she made *_hundreds_* of skills and generally understood the skills of other players better than even the people who made them. most of the uniqueness of being a skillmaster involved different systems of awarding skills to other players none of them free for the skillmaster aside from passing their Tower's trials (and even that essentially made them into a dungeon boss whenever they were near it) and a few systems for other players to _take_ skills from them, that last bit is why she was treated as a wandering nightmare by the playerbase: since she didn't play the dungeon boss role or lead some guild or dole out skills for playermade quests or any of the other more social-based ways for players to get skills from a skillmaster she was essentially forced to play the game with pvp enabled at all times even in safe zones with a a giant target on her back, the playerbase started thinking of her as a wandering field boss they _needed_ to farm for those tasty tasty unique skills she dropped and after a few instances of groups organizing giant raid parties to ambush her the next time she tried to go into town for groceries the general playerbase soon found out that she could damned well live up to the role of an endgame wandering raid boss.

And while I do like that there are other players, I wish there were more antagonistic players that were also high level. One that threatens to disrupt the world and cause problems for everyone. I don't think it has fully explained it yet in the Light Novel. I believe her friend Opus and her Uncle shut down the server and did something to preserve her and give her a chance at another life. I think it implied there was real life demon magic involved too. I think the game was left running for 200 years (in game) in the meanwhile. A bunch of stuff from the old server was sealed in the center of the old kingdom, but the seal has started to leak out, I think that explains why players are slowly showing up over time. But I am not sure why there are other players stuck in there, or if they are real or just like copies of their personality?

I enjoyed that but it ended way to quickly even if its a beautiful female who is so over powered. It seems like we should have seen her spending a day in her life before getting moved into the game. I never liked how she handled that leader of the bandits. The kid was a player that didn't realize the game he was in turned into a real world. That's stupid and he should have realized it, but I'm giving him a pass on not knowing because he was just a child. Imagine you're a 10 year old playing a VR game and find out all in ten minutes, one you are no longer in your own world in a safe game and two death is real and not only can you die the NPC's you killed and harmless PK's you have been doing is actually REAL MURDER. Also you can't go home to your family ever again, you are trapped and imprisoned for crimes you didn't even know were real until moments ago. Also, given the MC got trapped in this VR world because she died while playing it, that kid probably died in real life too.
