Vinnie, I liked this video. The sheep's foot style knife is prefect for this type of work. I see you haven't run out of bailing twine. I've still got a roll I purchased two years ago. My son and I have been squirrel hunting with our favorite single shot shotguns ,.410 caliber. Its been very cold here but we still get outdoors. Thanks for honoring Mr. Kochanski, I believe he would be very proud of you. I noticed the new pup in training, Dyson will show the little fellow the ropes. Take care my friend.

Hi Tim and thank you. I liked Mors and I thought very highly of him. The .410 should be perfect for squirrel I'd imagine. It's great to get out and do things with your family. @@vinniesdayoff3968 :- Harley is a big Chihuahua...about the size of a large house cat. Though he thinks he is the biggest dog in the room, which is a bit scary for us. When other family dogs come to visit he becomes very protective of his Dad, who is a tiny Chihuahua. (His Mom is also a tiny Chihuahua) Harley also has a buddy in a rescue cat named Misha.

Thank you very much Neil. I was watching one of his videos where he discussed super shelters. He came up with the idea of copying the igloo and using the space blankets to reflect heat like the ice in an igloo but it was some children who first put the plastic sheeting in front of the shelter. They were supposed to leave the front open. he saw the benefits and the rest is history. He could have said that it was completely his own idea but he was just too honest. Not many like him these days. I liked the man.

Thanks indeed my friend. I used to enjoy listening to Mors very much and whatever anyone said his teachings were based on a lifetime of experience of using his techniques . He is a loss to the outdoor community

I felt the same... Like I knew Mors very well. Maybe because Mors was born in Poland and the fact that he looked like a typical warm-hearted Polish grandfather. The best tribute on KZbin

One of the greatest legacies one can leave to the world is the gift of life. Mors has left the legacy of knowledge of survival in the minds of hundreds of thousands of people and it is probably in the quantity that would ensure the survival of the human species if something catastrophic were to happen and a few thousand survivors around the world will have enough, thanks to Mors, to make sure we don't die out. Thats a great legacy! Thanks Mors and thanks Vinny!

He was very honest about where his ideas came from like boy scout magazines and old housekeeping books. He told how the super shelter was discovered by some children he had taken camping. Some "gurus" on KZbin are not so honest

I spent many happy hours listening to Mors Joe. Most of what he taught is way more practical and realistic than the BS on KZbin these days. I was sorry to hear he passed away

Thanks Mccartan. It really is a strong set up that can allow you to carry very heavy loads and takes minutes to make from a few sticks. Mors Kochanski started his career as a survival instructor for the Canadian air force. They had to come up with ways for air crews to make what they needed to allow them to make their way out of the wilderness if necessary. As I said everything he taught revolves around overcoming practical problems. I'll pass on the compliment to Aoife. She will be delighted. Thanks again Macartan 👍

Hello and thank you. They are Jack Russells. Dyson, the older dog with the black head is three quarters Parson Jack Russell (Parson Jack Russell is a leggier strain) and one quarter traditional Jack Russell (shorter and stockier sometimes) Mary Sue, the whiter dog, has a little dash of fell terrier way back in her breed but is mostly Jack Russell

Hi David. I have consulted the Oracle and "The Parting Glass" is not only for funerals but it is not a happy tune. It is regretting the fact that you are parting from friends that you will not meet again. The whistle that my daughter plays is a tin whistle in the key of D made by John Sindt in the USA (sindtwhistle @aol.com) There is usually a waiting list for these and they ship worldwide. We don't really know about concert whistles or where to buy in Dublin. All I can say is to Google it. Sorry I can't be more helpful ☹️

Did you get much condensation on the inside of the shelter?

Quite a bit but it just runs down the sides to the ground so it doesn't matter. Very important to close any openings. Any little gap lets the heat out (and cold in) when the fire goes down. Very toasty when the fire is going
