A Parts Hack, or a Fixer? Introducing the XA Falcon Wagon

Just a quick video this time... I wasn't going to say anything about this old hack until it turned up, which won't be until later in the month. So XA Wagon? Not planned but one of those things which showed up and I snapped at... Take a look and see what you reckon. Hope you enjoy!

I love wagons, I wish the public's love affair with big box SUV's would end and they went back to making wagons again. Just last night I watched a video of two guys resurrecting an EJ wagon out of the bush with the goal of driving it out and to the nearest pub. It was pretty rusted and no floors. They got it started, the old grey motor ticked over like a sweetie and they drove it, though not too far, to the nearest pub. At the end of the video they said they wanted 5 grand for it. It doesn't cease to amaze me how much classic cars, especially, Aussie classic cars go for these days. This XA is definitely deserving of a resto, but it sure would be a huge and expensive job. Hope the right side of the car is as reasonable as the left side.

There can't be many XA wagons left. Maybe it will be worth saving, it will be interesting to see. The fact that you can't see the drivers side is a worry, I hate when they do that and there is usually a reason. Fun times ahead for you by the look of it. I sold my Austin yesterday. No regrets at all. 😊

Hello, Peter. I'd be very tempted to restomod it. Original pea green with a modern Ford drivetrain,like a Barra + 6-speed auto. Who knows !? Maybe even a diesel V6 from a Territory.🤔

The XA wagon has a floor shift, probably a retro fit SPECO. Hope you get quite a few parts for the sedan out of it if its not salvageable.

Sure, I'll hang on to it for the next month or so. If I want to get rid of this wagon quickly I'll throw it in and make it a runner. If the wagon is worth further work (semi resto or whatever) I'll sell off the six with the automatic trans, cheers.

Aha, no I have two in that colour. The sedan will be Summer Gold (its original colour) and IF this ends up being fixed up (a big if) then I'd probably do it in Kelly Green that's what the original colour likely is, cheers.

No such thing as a parts hack nowdays g. They all fixers. No mater how bad. The good thing about that tho is u can do whatever u want to a point and its not wrecking a classic cause it was already wrecked.
