My husband is a crew chief, fleet service for an airline at DFW airport. He is an essential worker, and he brought Covid home to us. I got very sick and had to go to the hospital. Thank goodness we are better, he goes back to work Monday. We are considered better and no longer on quarantine, but still feel the effects of this terrible disease. I pray for people not to get this, it was the sickest I have ever been (and I had cancer and went thru chemo and major surgery recoveries) and never once did I feel like I was going to die until I had Covid. Stay safe and thank you for your service. I know some really tough times are coming. My husband has seen some of the best managers he's ever worked with be walked out of the airport because they were laid off. We know big layoffs are coming Oct 1, which is the first date the airline can lay off its union employees and not be penalized for taking the bailout. My husband has been with AA for 30 years, so the company would basically have to cease to exist before his job is at risk, but it's still so hard to see so many people at risk. My husband is 53, but he works with people in their late 60s and even 70s, the hope is that many who are retirement age actually do retire so that more younger employees with less time can keep their jobs.

I recently found your channel while stuck at home recovering from hip surgery. My husband works in aviation manufacturing in Wichita and I work for a John Deere construction and forestry dealer. We were both considered "essential". He being aviation made him essential. I was essential for supporting infrastructure construction projects, farm, and government. We all had to work together to get through it. I was also helping care for my mom with terminal melanoma cancer. She wouldn't have survived if she had contracted the virus so the family was very careful about wearing masks and washing hands. My husband and I did get Covid at the end of October 2020 but was clear before Thanksgiving. It was Mom's last holiday season with us. Thanks for everything you did and continue to do. During the pandemic I was able to fly to Arizona and surprise my bestie for her 40th birthday. She had not been able to come home for over a year and all she wanted was her family and friends. Her sister and I found a cheap round trip for a long weekend and showed up at her door the night before her birthday. Without FAs , pilots and other airport workers we couldn't have given her that joy. Thanks for everything! I love your channel and watching Luna. I am a dog mom to 2 Bassett hound boys. 5year old and 7 months.

Hi Julia! My name is Jess and I love your channel! I just wanted to tell you that I hope you’re doing better! Being an essential worker myself has been very hard and has really been making me very anxious everyday to go to work. I work at my local hospital in the radiology department as a receptionist, so we check in at least 130-150 people a day. I don’t normally get anxiety, but these last few months have really been a test for everyone! Just know I am thinking of you! It really does make me feel appreciated when patients thank us for being essential workers!

Hi Julia. I am from the UK and wanted to also say thank you to you and all flight staff. You do a very necessary job with a lot of hardships as you deal with passengers and little thanks so I know a thank you goes a long way. I am a contract cleaner myself with a big company where 60% of staff could work from home. But the buildings don't clean themselves so I have been in every day from the start of outbreak. We finally were recognized from the company just last week and we're told thank you so much for hard work and dedication because without us the company would have shut down....we were given a gift voucher. I felt humbled...they did not have to do that but they did and just the thank you was very humbling. So keep up the terrific work and sacrifices you make to give passengers an enjoyable flight... I would like to give you this 🌹and a virtual hug.

These are the best kind of thank Yous. Out of the blue, genuine and from the heart. After a 33 year career as a paramedic, retired for 6, I came back to help out. I got a thank you from a set of eyes. Well there is a whole face but it’s covered with a mask (face covering). And these eyes belonged to an 11 year old girl fighting a huge battle with leukemia. I felt like a Gazillion Bucks! I know how you feel! Savor it, it will be a while until you feel like that again unfortunately 🥺

Julia, I have always appreciated flight attendants but, thanks to you I now know more of what all of you go through. I am a retired fireman and now work as a deputy coroner in Kentucky so as you could imagine my job has been busy. I love all of you and it literally breaks my heart when I watch a video of people treated flight attendants bad. God bless you. You and all your fellow flight attendants are and will be in my prayers. Thank you for all you do from the bottom of my heart. P.S. I love Luna

You know, the few times I’ve flown, the crew and your specific area of expertise is evident even without Corona Virus. Keep your great attitude.

So kind of you to share not only the good times but those challenging moments. I so appreciate what you are doing and I'm so glad someone was nice enough to acknowledge thanks for all that you do for us. We have a double whammy now in Hawaii, a record Covid case and hurricane Douglas on the way but I've seen the kindness in people, like you, helping one another to prepare for the worst. Keep being you, I can tell what you do comes from the heart and that makes a world of difference!
