TLDW: doesn’t matter that BA is cutting this service, because it has a metal-neutral joint venture with AA on the route.

It matters because it's nice to see their planes at DFW. Large cargo volumes moving through the airport. Yes can see big UPS aircraft there. But there is much cargo carriage in the bellies of the passenger aircraft. So there is cargo volume for BA from London Heathrow to DFW.

Five flights daily from Dallas to London (and five from London to Dallas). I wasn’t aware there were that many flights.

Was pretty cool to see the BA A380 start to land regularly. Didn’t think I’d see another one at DFW after Quantas stopped.

Yep, when it comes in from the North it flies pretty close to my house around 5pm and is awesome to see every time. Kinda bummed out now

There is a similar thing happening with Air New Zealand’s route with Chicago. It’s suspended as we speak with no word of when it’s returning.

Postphoned because of RR engine issues. ANZ will be returning with their new GEnx powered 787 Dreamliners.

Live in DFW, never took British Airways since American always has cheaper nonstop prices, and connecting flights on Middle Eastern airlines are much more convenient and reliable. Always look out for the BA A380 when at DFW, shame to see it go :(

I have always preferred AA ... the flexibility of multiple daily flights, versus one big bird. Also, the AA service in Coach is just a bit better.

AA dont want BA at DFW. BA have shunned substandard RR T1000 engines for their future orders of 787 Dreamliners to the superior GEnx engines which are outselling RR engines by a margin of three to one.

Interesting. I'd hate to have a job with the logistic of planning when and where an aircraft will or won't be. BA,AA,AC, Delta, United ,Cathay you get my meaning. Stressful job.

BA also appear to have dropped their winter 2025 LHR - LAX 787 service, leaving only a 380 and 777 service.

Good analysis. Certainly what I've heard at my end from management. Gonna miss DFW and the Stockyards in Fort Worth. Especially gonna miss Texas BBQ.

@@TravellingTechie Oh, OK. (My brother and SIL were just here from London and we did the Stockyards, BBQ, etc. Had a great time. With now 5 daily AA flights, there's plenty of capacity for Brits to enjoy some Texas hospitality).

I live in Dallas, and have taken BA192 DFW-LHR, and BA193 LHR-DFW. Enjoyed it much more than going to United hubs to connect, so I’m hopeful AA doesn’t disappoint next summer.

Quit calling it Dallas, American Airlines is based in Fort Worth and not Dallas. DFW is known as Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and DAL is considered Dallas.

Once BA updates their entire wide body fleet with their new seat configs and also get rid of fees for seat selection in BUSINESS CLASS (which is absolutely insane that I have to pay those), then I’ll consider on flying them.

BA has its strong points - and yes, the crews are good - but it is unreliable. I de-risk any trips that involve BA flights.

I avoid AA terminal 3 to 5 is horrible! I rather do BA terminal 5 to 5 way better.

Lets get The Queen back in the sky! Get out to the desert and bring home some of those 747s that British Airways had JUST done refurbs on! I know they burn a little more gas, fine, charge a fee called "Extra charge to fly on the most awesome aircraft ever so we can afford to bring them back into service fee". Hell yes, I'd pay it.
