Hi Mish is to see if you would look up a metal detector called rutus versa I try to buy but it is not available on my side of the world so maybe you can get it in your side of the world it looks really good well happy hunting good luck to you stay safe.

Hi Papole, I’ve never seen a Rutus machine in Australia either. They look interesting, but for warranty I’d probably get a similar machine that’s available in my country (eg. Nokta Simplex New Generation, or the Minelab X-Terra Pro). Happy hunting 😁

Hi Mish ! I am a new subscriber of your channel attracted mainly by your “ mellow and kind “ manners and by your excellent videos portraying your beautiful clean beaches. I am following especially your many beach detecting videos because those are the most available to me where I live and by your recent purchase and use of your Nokta Makro Legend which I also purchased and I am trying to learn by watching your experience with it. I will like to ask you regarding your beach scoop’s handle’s length. I purchased a new stainless steel beach scoop without the handle and then I purchased a carbon fiber handle but I need to know about how long should I cut the handle in order to be able to use it on the beach sand without it being too long ( Should the handle be up to my shoulders or higher above my shoulders ?) . I am 5 feet 6 inches tall ( short maybe ?). Will you please reply with your answer so I can finish fixing the handle to my scoop ? I love all your videos and your politeness and demeanor with friends, kids and everyone you interact with ! Very admirable and a good example to all ! May God bless you and your family ! Nice hunt. Half a coffee and silver to! 1200 miles, a bad starter and an emergency surgical procedure has stopped my detecting for awhile. Going fishing instead.

Those two hobbies share a lot of characteristics - patience is required, and while research can put you on a good spot, the targets have to be there in the first place if they are to be found! Plus I’m sure you’ve found a few sinkers and lures with the detector to support the fishing habit. 😁 Speedy recovery Vern.

Great video! I've just started, and I found an early 10c piece. This thing is corroded and orange brown. I'd like to keep it, as it's the first thing I've found (other than junk) - what's the best way to clean it up?

I just use an inexpensive coin tumbler, though I've upgraded the stainless steel tumbling media to a better quality. Readily available on eBay etc (the media was from a lapidiary supplier). Congrats on the coin!!

I’ve never dug one out of the ground, but I do have a few in my coin collection! 😁Lots of folks melted them down to make jewellery given the higher silver content. Catch you on the next one mate 😊

Hey there Gadzee, my feet are pretty conditioned to it now, I even have a permanent line tan on my feet from the thongs 😂 I used to sell the scrap lead but these days I save it to melt down as dive weights, I figure I may as well encourage folks to appreciate what’s underwater instead of the sinkers being thrown straight back in by fisho’s. My dad gets some of the lures 😂 cheers mate.

Love the silver and Hot Wheels! Surprised the silver only rang up 38-39. Usually 46-47 here in middle GA. I don't get to beach hunt very often. Looks so much easier than my usual roots and mud. Thanks for sharing!!!

The 1946 and later silver pre-decimal coins were only 50% silver - earlier than this, they were 925 which would bring them a lot closer to your signals. Beach hunting is so much fun - the finds are generally more worn than soil, but it's such a mixed bag of results and typically a lot easier to dig as well. Thanks for watching! :)

All three of my machines (Legend, D2 and the 'nox) have done well on deep silver here, but the conditions have to be juuuuust right. I don't doubt that the Manticore would also do well :) Cheers A!

Hi Mish :) It seemed that it was such a nice peaceful hunt for you with perfect temperature too, which is as you said its not always about finding stuff but enjoying the environment on a nice day :) i am wondering if you keep tally on how much weight in Sinkers you find every time you go out ? as I believe you must have cleared over a tonne or 2 of lead from the beaches and the parks by now :) I am wishing some of the places i have visited lately that i could have also done some detecting, as i have been exploring some local Historic places like a Castle, Roman Ruins and most recently an 18th century stately homes grounds, all of these places are within a short distance from me, and I have been sharing some footage of theses places on my channel. Which i decided to start doing something with over the last couple of months since turning 50 :D Fingers crossed for Coffee Tokens next time out and a bucket lister :)

I haven’t kept an official tally of the lead, but a full session (~4hrs) along a rocky beach will typically net me around 4-5kg of sinkers, sometimes more. It’s actually quite scary as to just how much lead is about. You live in an amazing area - wouldn’t it be incredible to detect those sites! Happy 50th. 🥳
