Inflation is the rate prices go up. They have gone up much slower. Prices don’t go down historically unless you have an intense recession and mass layoffs. Inflation slowing does not mean prices go down.

@@TraderNick yes it's the rate at which prices go up but at the same time inflation is an increase in general prices right?so the rate of inflation went down by your definition but prices don't come down and they won't even in a recession -only assets prices.inflation is not down because prices of last is less than the price of this year.

Prices (on average) have only gone down during rare periods of deflation, that have historically occurred during painful recession times. Inflation has significantly slowed, meaning prices are rising slower than they were before
