20:18 - Anyone whom considers the word of God to be a "blunt instrument"..... reveals before all that they of a truth despise the King of the word in their hearts... Although their lips do seek to claim that their allegiance is unto Him! God shall build His Church.... His church are His people, whereby His Spirit dwelleth...and they shall stand until the end indeed !! Yet corporations and their paid hirelings whom seek to govern His children, yet are not governed by Him, shall be torn down... Every wicked stone shall be ground to powder! Glory to God!

There is no place for unrepentant sinners in the church, nor are we to support their choice of lifestyle. Isaiah 5:20

Haha I love when the moderator says, ‘talk us through the moment when the bishops voted against the teachings of Christ.’

Dear Samuel, It is tragic. Do pray for the apostate bishops in the Australian Church - that God might have mercy on them, and that they might repent. And pray for the complex task for the godly leaders in relating to them. Warmly, Dominic

@@ThePastorsHeart I actually meant (tongue in cheek) that as a 'moderator' canvassing different positions and issues in play, comments like this are probably not helpful. But if 'apostasy' is indeed the charge, well dialogue is probably no longer possible. Such comments create a fractious and polemical atmosphere, rather than exploring nuance. There are many other thoughts/understandings/possible ways forward that are lost to such language.

@@1925sam Dear Samuel, the fractious and polemic atmosphere is created when people divert from Gods word and advocate this and then when addressed won’t repent for that action not because people stand in the truth of Gods word and reject falsity. As a ex homosexual deceived by satan for many decades I now understand how hateful and unloving it is for anyone, let alone someone proclaiming to be a Christian to advocate for sin as one can not have eternal life or fellowship with God in this position and it really is hating on your neighbour for anyone to advocate for sin. What a tragedy and hardly a laughing or jovial matter, I too am grieved by this situation and praise God for those that hold to Gods word and fight the good fight In Faith Love and Truth to the Glory of God. Not that I believe all is lost at all, as none the father gave the son can be lost but Samuel I grieve that sin abounds and these matters also.

Lets ,simplify this, Marriage Should be a union between Man and Woman, blessed by God in the union of two separate souls becoming one. to commit to each other and in the fullness of time to bring into this broken World new life. For the Grace of God.Its so simple,we should Love and Forgive, which I hope we all Strive to do.I have been a bit wayward in my life. But,as age advances , God’S truth finally comes back to those who never have given up on the Ultimate truth.

A wider historical context may be helpful in the current debate. The issue the church in Australia currently faces is not new. The exact same issues - about authority, interpretation, proper order - were fought over the ordination of women. At that time many, many Anglicans (it is often forgotten) did leave. Some left to schismatic Anglican sects, all of which, in this country at least, have come to nothing. A salutary warning, perhaps. At the same many Anglicans who remained conscientiously opposed to the ordination of women remained, carving out a niche within the church, usually to the disparagement and outright opposition of the hierarchy and the wider church in general. In Australia, no pastoral provision was made for those who remained but could not accept the ministry of women priests and now women bishops. I say all this not to drag up old wounds to highlight how this is not new territory we are, and that there are perhaps some lessons from the past to be learned. Within the Church of England, there is the system of Provincial Episcopal Visitors; bishops who are technically suffragans of the Archbishop of Canterbury, who are specifically chosen to minister to those Anglicans who take a traditionalist line on this. A parish may make a theological declaration to request the Pastoral and sacramental ministry of such a Bishop. The parish remains legally a part of the Diocese, but the sacramental ministry of a Bishop, confirming, ordaining, etc is provided by the P.E.V. These bishops are always male, always have been consecrated by other male bishops in the 'historic succession', and effectively they have non geographic de facto dioceses across the territorial dioceses of England. The three Bishoprics are Ebbsfleet, Richborough, and Beverley...all ancient titles/ titular sees. In effect, the Provincial Episcopal Visitors exercise an itinerant, pastoral ministry. In addition to the aforementioned bishops, there is also the Bishop of Fulham, a suffragan within the Diocese of London, whose remit is virtually identical to the P.E.V's. These four men are Anglo-Catholic, and in addition to them is also the Bishop of Maidstone, another titular non geographic see, and he provides care for Conservative evangelical parishes who take a headship/complementarian view. When the CofE permitted women bishops, it also adumbrated five guiding principles whereby those who dissented from this development could continue to be within the church of England, with theological and sacramental integrity. I offer all this to suggest that those who have argued that the time for talking is now over, that there is clearly much, much more that could be proposed, that would keep the church together. www.forwardinfaith.com/WBProvisions.php?id=213&fbclid=IwAR21lINrtUvkvvsofTkGlspPq03JgD59paJG9AKBAqvtBHLtXCGY-UcgMFQ
