@LightTackleAnglerWA Rudder was wearing too fast & screws needed replacing. Waiting on the parts. In the meantime, trying out flats fishing. Something I haven't really done before - went straight from beach/jetty to kayak 😅

hey man, noticed you talked about chasing pelagics from ammo jetty before, what time of year/tides/moon/time of day are you chasing (of course warmer water so not at the moment) - and are you spinning/sliding/ballooning/ or freelining livies? been after info as trying to crack a mack or longie north metro for a while but very hard to find info, cheers (also setup/rig) would be amazing 🤙
@LightTackleAnglerWA Жыл бұрын
hey man. To be honest i'm not sure I did aha. rewatched most of my videos because I was stumped as to when I mentioned it and I can't find it hah. that being said, if I was to go for a lb pelagic I'd follow the advice in the 2nd half of this vid /facebook.com/perthfishingtv/videos/north-mole-bonito-in-the-80s/242159647222710/ he's talking about bonito but regardless that's what i'd do. Late summer to Autumn is always the best for that kind of stuff. spinning for land based pelagics in perth metro would be seriously backbreaking stuff in my opinion.

Hey nice fish! What lures were you using?
@bomberbloke Жыл бұрын
Unreal vid - I used to dig bloodworms on those flats for bream, never even considered hitting them up for a flats fish! What was the wind doing on that first day when you said the baitfish were pushing up, a light SW?
@LightTackleAnglerWA Жыл бұрын
thanks mate! yeah it can be productive at certain times. It would have been mostly a southerly from memory (was a strange wind direction for the impending heatwave at the time) , but anything from SSE to a Westerly would put bait in that direction. Yeah well known spot for the worms, probably why there are so many whiting around I suppose

@@LightTackleAnglerWA would love to see a video in the future on your general casting technique, and your skip casting into structure...after discovering your vids in the last couple of weeks, I've been thinking I need to incorporate what you're doing more, it seems so effortless yet accurate
@LightTackleAnglerWA Жыл бұрын
thanks mate, will reference it in a future video! there are plenty of vids on yt that explain it I think. I used to practice for hours on end in a swimming pool haha- both skip casting (backhand and forehand) and trying to hit individual tiles on the other side of the pool. Obviously not necessary aha just helped for sure. Practice makes perfect!
