cool parallels - type, anti-type with Ya'aqov vs Esav and Yosef vis a vis his brothers... perhaps Esav marrying foreign women, especially into Ishmael's daughters prevents a sharing of the blessing too. even though Yehuda married one, she and her offspring were largely taken out of the inheritance picture; and Tamar replaced it. what is Efraim's and Meneshe's dual parentage represent?
