One thing I don't understand - why do creators in airship levels always put some action on very bottom rows of tiles? Nobody does that in a normal level. Like, do people actually *want* the sway effect to obscure ground?

Yes. They like the shakey cam. But only airship lets you do it. In that last crappy level, the reason for the fake out door in such a bad place was the inabillity to do better. They wanted a fakeout door, but weren't capable of getting it obscured. What they probably wanted was a door which was invisible until you walked over it. But the best in game was blackout lighting. And the best a skilled person could do is to block the good xor fakeout door with launchers. Which looks ugly and is difficult to do. Related note, many of the mechanisms in game need to be available as macros or searchable or to just have the function as an item. Like instead of having a jump detector machine, you could have a power up hat which flicks the on/off when you jump. And the same for dont look left, you could learn how to do it from the hacky community, but they also could have the function integrated into the game. A running theme with many of these bad levels is that one can often figure out what they were trying to do but got frustrated attempting and gave up, but still posted the level. Guy wanted a fakeout door since it was common in other mario games. Cant figure out how to do it and antisocially makes a precision level with a dev key. "They will get the intent" he thinks, though most dont. To most it is just a bad level.

Everyone puts 'floor' level much higher than in the lowest row. As for creators and not makers... they mean the same thing? Creator, maker, level designer.

You would think with as much mario maker as you play that you would improve over time. You complain about the game's mechanics but then never learn how to bypass them.
