Just watching your video while staying on Koh Yao Yai and weirdly I'm actually staying at the same accommodation! Excited to check out the island for a few days!

Hey jack. Great video. Have you been to Ko Lanta. I have heard its similar? Nice and quiet.
@Journey_with_Jack10 ай бұрын
Hey Green Shadow, I have indeed I went a couple of islands before Koh Yao Yai. That was where I stayed in the hut shown quickly in this video, it was definitely an experience 😂. In regards to Koh Lanta itself though it is another peaceful place with huge quiet beaches, absolutely stunning a bit more around than Koh Yao Yai but equally as beautiful!

Unbelievable that this wonderful place has maintained "a lack of tourist congestion" From April 2003 then I visited there with a friend and my daughter, on the advice of a local tour guide under the "Paradise" brand. It was calm, and we enjoyed the view and the self-sailing in the canoes. A great great video that for me are distant but wonderful memories (I was in Thailand again in 2006 but not on this island)🐬🐬🐬

That’s amazing I’m sure it was even more incredible back in 2003 and how cool you got to witness it before anyone at all really knew about it! 😁👍

Hi what’s the night life like is there any bars to go to at all or are just stuck at the resort
@Journey_with_JackАй бұрын
There’s no real nightlife scene compared to tourist and main areas in Thailand, this is more of just a quiet paradise island. While there will be a couple of bars and restaurants closer to some of the main beaches and them areas I’m not sure what time they will be open till compared to most areas in Thailand. If you are situated a bit further away from these areas as well you will need to drive there anyway. Unfortunately I can’t help out lots with nightlife as I don’t really see this side. What were your plans for Koh Yao Yai?

Hey! Thank you for the video! Me and my husband are planning to go there in November in this resort called Santhiya Koh Yao Yai for 3 nights but we are a bit worried there’s not too much to do, we are doing it after 4 nights in Phuket so it’s definitely to chill out before we head to Bangkok, so wanted to ask if you think 3 nights is too long? And how much is food and drinks in the local places? Wondering if were better off going to Krabi
@Journey_with_Jack7 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching👍 Koh Yao Yao is a beautiful place and so nice because there aren’t as many tourists. There isn’t a lot to do like many of the main places in Thailand but it is amazing to see the beaches are stunning and the resorts do look nice but I only had the outside view. If you’re staying in a resort then I’m sure you already have a few restaurants and that around so you may not need the bike if you’re just planning on chilling round there. But ultimately it comes down to what you want to do for the 3 days if you want to just experience beaches and some views and chill then it’s perfect. If you want more nightlife and bars go to krabi ao nang that’s a very busy nightlife place. My other recommendation and one of my favourite places in Thailand is railay which is between the two. There’s lots of activities to do there lots of bars restaurants and wildlife you will just see around. It is very touristy in peak season but an amazing place to see. What sort of things were you looking to do while your away? Like beach chilling, adventure activities or nightlife and bars or something else?

Also food and drinks won’t differ too much in most places in Thailand especially locally you can eat very very good from local run restaurants for less than 10 pound a day, if you go to more franchised or fancy restaurants of course this will go up. Thailand is very cheap for food, alcohol is probably the more expensive side but still no where near western prices in local bars. The only places you will notice the prices go up a fair bit is in the major cities Bangkok and Phuket for example. Chiang mai is a major one but still very cheap. Hope this help please feel free to ask any questions I’ll gladly help as much as I can where I can 😁👍

Omg thank you so much for the detailed and quick response! Honestly helps lots! We wanna be in Phuket for the fun stuff like markets, bars, sightseeing food etc then we thought Koh Yao Yai would be perfect to just relax and chill out after Phuket so it does sound like a great option! And honestly there’s not many people that have covered this island! I’ve planned this trip since last November! And couldn’t find a video of the actual island like your on KZbin yet! So thanks so much! Great intel on the food prices too! Will keep in mind and haven’t heard of Railay but just seen your video on it and looks incredible so May need to do more research on that one 👀 thanks again! You’ve definitely gained a subscriber and will be watching more of your content since I love Southeast Asia 😍😍😍
@Journey_with_Jack7 ай бұрын
Yeah Koh Yao Yai will be a fantastic place to chill and relax at after Phuket for sure, I think you will love it there. I look forward to travelling back to Thailand one day and finding more unique places like this as well. Phuket markets are great as well so good choice sounds like you have picked some great places. I’m happy I could help and as I say if you ever have any questions about anything please feel free to ask I will always make sure I get back and help where I’m able to 😁 and I really appreciate the support thank you, I hope I can keep making better and better content for you and everyone who has been watching, as I move forward with it all 😁👍 and let me know how you find it all after you have been I’d be interested to know your thoughts.

That's amazing! I hope you have a great time! 🙌. I stayed at Bussarin Mansion. Nice little place, but nothing overly special or extravagant but good rooms. Definitely need a bike to get to places though as it is in the middle of nowhere. I think most people stay closer to the chong lard pier or loh pared beach. There is a few more shops and places to eat round them areas but if you want a place a little out the way and to just to ravel to other places the bussarin mansion did the job for me 👍 hope this helps, feel free to message me anymore questions 😁👍
