@@davidpeckham9136 There's a few country music radio stations still that only play true classic country music. One in southern Illinois for sure but I can't remember the name of it. But I'm sure as time goes by, more will be available when they realize that most of today's country is pretty much a joke Let's at least hope so.

American country singer Merle Haggard left behind a legacy that forever changed country music. Merle Haggard was a devout Christian, stating “It’s almost embarrassing to know that the Lord cares that much for me, but I’m going to shout it to the world.” Much like his late friend Johnny Cash, Haggard was no saint.

@gailcaldwell15122 жыл бұрын
As a kid, I can remember listening to this on the radio when it first came out and I was so moved, almost to tears. And of course part of that was because of the way “The Hag” could almost transport you into a song for those 2-3 minutes in that absolutely masterful way. BUT ADDITIONALLY, The ONE AND ONLY Miss Janie Frickie, was(and still is) also an ABSOLUTE MASTER in the way she could add to songs, and to this day I don’t think she EVER got enough credit (outside the Nashville community) for how she helped so many songs SORE TO #1, because of the sound she helped create. And this song is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!
