A Place Where Anything Can Get Fixed. Meet The Repair Cafe Palo Alto

We traveled to Palo Alto, California home of Stanford University and the first operational Repair Cafe in the United States. Repair Cafe Palo Alto periodically holds events where people from all over the bay area can bring their broken stuff, and have experts help getting it fixed. From bikes to lamps to just about anything you can think of, the Repair Cafe is doing what they can to help out.

This is amazing! many people with broken fixable stuff not knowing what to do or where to take it, at last a perfect solution! I would just add a trade spot, where you can leave your fixed "stuff" and other people can opt to buy it or trade it, great work

Whenever I got to my local rubbish tip I get saddened by the amount of things thrown away. A skip full of lawn mowers that most likely only need brushes in the motors or a new blade. Then there's the amount of wood. Ridiculous with the cost of it money wise and to the environment. We could do with these meetings in the uk.

I wander if they fixe Casio digital piano. I stepped on the power chord and it became loose , took it to someone who fix keyboard, he fixed it and cost me $50. but when I got it back, the last two notes got no sound. I can't afford to have it fixed again, he might charge me more and have more troubles. do you have someone who knows electronics? I live in Melbourne, Australia.
