I really HOPE that a lot of people see this. I was living in Hawaii at the time that this took place. What you are not being told is when this plane was on the assembly line, the very next plane being assembled behind it was sold to Singapore airlines. THAT PLANE SUFFERED THE SAME EXACT FATE! THE ROOF CAME OFF IN FLIGHT. Coincidence? That is what the talking heads said at that time . . . I do not buy it.

My uncle, a now retired pilot, was flying the plane that was supposed to land next. They were diverted to another island that day, but allowed to land the next day. He saw the damaged plane. Later he told us there was no way the pilot should have been able to safely land the plane with all the damage. Pretty amazing.

I lived on Oahu at the time this happened. Four months later I took a flight to Maui and the plane was still at the airport with a tarp over the missing part. It was storming when we landed so the tarp was flapping and we could see inside the aircraft. It is one thing to hear about it, watch the news stories on it, but a whole other to see the plane. I cannot imagine what the crew and passengers went through. May Clarabelle Lansing rest in peace.

@@kingshit3076 THANK YOU!!! Ok. I believe Philip just hasnt realized. We are just giving you info, PhillipDaMaster. Years ago..like the 50's-70's , flight attendants were called, Stewardess. I am probably wrong with the years..but that is what they were called. That name is not used anymore. Years ago women who were employed by the airlines were called stewardess.. Thats waaay back before they , the airlines, got a brain! Now.. the job title is flight attendant. Male, or female. Now since u are so used to it being a womans job u most likely dont pay attention... Anyway..yes..Flight attendants are males, and females, and whoever wants the job :) :)

Things you got inncorrect 1. It was First Officer Madelline Tompkins who turned her head to see only the blue sky above the plane instead of the ceiling 2. Captain Robert Shortsthemier was the one flying the plane the entire time. 3. The flight attendant who was swept from the plane was Clarabelle Lansig (Not something you got wrong but a nice fact) and the one that dragged herself up an down the isle was Michelle Honda

I heard about this story before and it was a miracle. Everybody survive but one didn't. TWA Airlines flight whatever flight it was back in 1996 was disasterous because it exploded in mid air and no one survived, sad 😢☹️☹️😞😞😞
