Same here just with my mom, she used to hit me before she went to therapy and has really made a difference. Mom's bipolar, she's gone manic again. We recently learned some big news that's a dream come true for me, but it's a complicated situation for my mom to process. She's behaving like a child having a tantrum, but she's almost 60. She's had mental issues my whole life, and I understand why she is the way she is. I empathize with her and all the pain she's been through, but she's also put me through so much pain. The trauma of this household has torn apart much of my youth. My dad is genuinely the kindest, most gentle man in the world, I'm saved by his presence in my life. I'm almost 18, I graduate highschool in a few months. I just want to leave, desperately. I cannot live here much longer. I love them both, but I can't handle this any longer. It's playlists like this that help me drown it all out when she goes Manic, or when she's drunk. I haven't had my parents fight within ear shot of me for awhile, but I know when they leave for work, they argue, a lot. I dont even remember most of the fights, just the emotions are left over, being suppressed until my mind decides to wonder when I'm home alone. My parents fought a lot ever since I was born and before I was born. Growing up to all that has me extremely traumatized that whenever I hear people arguing or about to physically fight my body starts to shake and I start to cry. My dad lives far now and my mom and her bf were arguing and my heart started to beat so fast and hard. I started to shake. I came to calm me down and it’s so far slowly working. I really need this and a warm comforting hug. I’ve been going through so much. I keep telling myself it’ll get better. I’m mentally and emotionally not okay. I hope and wish for the best to you all! When i was younger i used to get hit around alot, Mostly by my mom and whenever I'd talk to someone about it she'd act all innocent and lie about me behind my back, saying things i wasn't. My dad left because of all the arguments they've had and my dad hit my mother out of anger and filed a restraining order against him. My little sister comes to me saying that our mother slapped her when i move out (which is 21) im going to take them with me. They shouldn't be treated like that and should have a better childhood then i had. I found out that when I was around 2 years old, my mother threw me out of the car and told me to walk home. My oldest brother jumped out of the car and came back to me, took my onto his back and walked me back home. I never knew how abusive my mom was, until this year. I never knew what she used to do to me and my brothers, but now I know. But the worst thing is, is that I don't think it'll change the way I see her. That's what I hate. I'm afraid that I still see her as the mother she was to me for as much as I remember of her. In 2 days, we have a wedding to attend and I have no idea if we'll even go as a family. We're supposed to, but I don't know anymore.

They have these sporadic fights all the time. I've only ever heard them say it directly to me once, at different times, but both said they'd leave. They'd leave me in this house amd run for the horizon if they could. My mom said she was tired of coming home to an ungrateful family, tired of working herself thin. I now have a habit of constantly wearing headphones and blaring music loud enough that I don’t hear anything else but the music. I now get anxious when someone is upset even if I didn’t have anything to do with it. I now flinch when I hear a sudden loud noise or whenever someone suddenly yells or try’s to touch me. I can tell it affected me when I literally feel so protective of my brother and younger cousins. Especially when I started crying when I got to hold my baby cousin for the very first time. I also am very clingy with my friends and act like a mother hen to anyone or anything. Thankfully I have a job now so I’m not at home constantly anymore.
