1:49:30 Correction (and a book spoiler): Gholas of this time period cannot regain the memories of their former lives. The Tleilaxu plot in Dune Messiah included learning how to do this. Duncan was the first.

Everyone raving about this being a dream team and meanwhile I've only gotten into watching BDS and Spelljammer on the D&D channel and have no idea who the 3 guys are. JFC, this episode was amazing! The character creation video seemed like it took 15 minutes it flew by so fast. Everyone is truly amazing. I'm guessing by this point that Noura has about 8 closets in her place full of just the right stuff for every character to cosplay as. The art was wonderful as well. Everything was painted so deeply that you could feel like you were there the entire show. But here's the most extraordinary thing. You're the first series I've watched that streamed on Twitch that the audio was amazing. Please for the love of everything share that with everyone else. No mic issues, the levels were perfect, and I could listen at the same volume I watch all the other videos on YT. I'd planned to start watching a bunch of the series on here once I had wrapped up some other series, mainly because of Noura and Becca plus the one with Paula Deming, but I will likely try some of the others out too. Wow, this was so great.

The only thing that bumbs me is we only get 10 episodes of this. What a phenomenal cast!! Love that Noura is becoming a mainstay of the network she has so much charisma and passion. Ross elevates every session he is in, he fits right in at the GCP. Becca, what can you say about her shes one of the biggest names in the scene I'm always stoked when she graces the naish with her presence. Skid, you're the man!

A small correction re. the rules: at 1:01:22 - p. 145 of the rulebook states that when you have a focus or a statement, you have to roll equal or under the target number (a skill or a drive) to get a critical success. So in fact Noura got 4 successes -> 2 Momentum for the team. Also, as someone else stated here in the comments section, Navigators never show up in public, they are a huge hush-hush and the outmost valuable asset of the Guild (p.49 of the rulebook). Otherwise everything is just nearly flawless - one of the greatest roleplaying shows I have watched in my life! ❤

im here cuz im making a very simplistic text based roleplay adventure game based on dune and arrakis having the book as an overarching theme but still allowing freedom and alternative start and constellation within the game, like im playing (pls feel free to "steal " any ideas, no seriously it ok i dint care otherwise i would nevermpost it right) as a nobody outsider foreigner just like conan the barbarian when he was exiled, on my way to deliver something to the space guild, my spaceship malfunction and crashes into the midst of dune in the 'deep desert' area,170 km from the harkonnens (cartheg), 60 km from corrino and 47 km away from atreides but i don't know this from the get go, actually nothing is known to my character except the "fourth wall " info the AI gives me as a gm like the details i already provided😅😅 so this is where my story begins and the emperor has been 15 months on dune, the harkonnens 3,5 months, and atreides 2,5 weeks....i encountered my first medium fast, but also lesser sandstorm today solo rpg style, my random shelter in a small cave on the rocky canyon close to my crashsite had a 63% shelter protection against the storm but still it took 46% damage taking most thing away before i had the chance and time to search the area before the storm hit , so far i rolled two times for , huge,medium and smaller sandworms but havent spotted anyone yet in the area im in , my thirst, fatigue, hunger, courage ,moral, and sanity meters are still doing ok, but i need to sleep soon and also find a scarce water source somewhere... tomorrow im gonna walk towards the nearest atreides outpost hopefully without encountering any sandbandits , worms or more sandstorms, but its a 47 km trek on foot in 38 degress celcius so i dunno...😅😅 everything i said i made up myself, no dnd books , nothing😊😊😊, just some imagination and inspiration from the latest movie and older classic dune games ( no not dune 2000)...

He was the first one into any room. I would follow him into any Sitch. He was So Good. I really wonder if his death was a bluff so that he couldn't be followed into the dark. Love you Geoff and wish you well forever. Thrombosis My Ass.

If you're not planning to read/listen to the books, I think you'd be best served by watching a KZbin-vid on Dune lore. Or peruse Wikipedia for a bit.

It's pretty much the source material that Warhammer 40K's Imperium and the Battletech houses take liberal amounts of 'inspiration' from, so if you know those settings it may start to become a bit more familiar as things you recognise get mentioned. If not the first book has been adapted to film a couple of times. The David Lynch film is very campy but a lot of fun if you can get past how confusing it is (the film condenses a really complicated story with a really out there setting into too little time because of studio interference). The new film is apparently really good but it doesn't adapt the full book and there's a sequel in development to adapt the second half. If you want the most basic description I can give it's kind of like Game of Thrones in space written by a white hippie with a fetish for islamic culture and hallucinogens.

The other 2 pods were a lot easier to follow from the beginning. This one is a little more in-depth. I will do my best to follow and maybe I'll try to read the first book or watch the movie. I love this channel and it's unleashed my inner geek.....and I love it. Thanks again
@casanovafunkenstein50902 жыл бұрын
@@bob2shred894 I should say, as well what I wrote above, that Dune is quite possibly the most densely packed and alien setting you're likely to come across in mainstream science fiction, so it's entirely reasonable for you to have difficulty getting into it. I'd liken it to taking a spoonful of the richest dessert you've ever tasted and then realising that you have received an absolutely enormous portion. Very few people are likely to be able to stomach the full thing first time round but over time people tend to either develop a taste for it or never want to touch it again. I realise I'm basically just saying it's an acquired taste but there is no other piece of fiction for which that label applies more accurately that I've come across.
