For those of us who are no where near the skill of you it is so helpful to see even the ' stars' can have a less than perfect result. Thank you for letting us see there is hope for beginners who have an occasional blip .❤❤❤❤

It’s important to see flops, reasons and solutions, I think. Sometimes they are the most valuable lessons. Everyone has them, everyone! Hugs, D

This class is wonderful! Thank you! I have to watch a class for a number of times to learn what you are teaching. The I usually begin my working the class. and have to reference the video. Have I mentioned that this is a wonderful class?!?!? There are many elements in this class that we all need to learn. Like the skinner blend to the plug. Slice a section off of the plug, flatten it and you can cut your disc! I LOVE IT!!! I had forgotten this technique until I saw it in this class! The green and yellow are beautiful. So far I have 4 hours invested into the first 2 hours of the class! LOL I will have to go to sleep!!! No worries, I will return!!! 🥰🥰🥰

I love that you place the image on a very thin piece of translucent clay. This to me is the most difficult part. But if done right, the image is protected without the need to add varnish or resin, AND it can be sanded lightly. I also love the use of gold leaf on the background piece. It has sparked something off in me. It is a really good technique. I am going to try this out. I'm pretty sure I'll be incorporating what I learnt from this video into my polymer clay works. And I will mention that I learnt from you whenever I can. I've already done so with some of my pieces up for sale on my website. Thanks Donna.🙏

Its absolutely gorgeous. My hands are aching just watching you do all of that sanding. 😂... Your commentary and captions crack me up too. Especially when that little intruder was stuck on your hand. Haha... And we need Kato mugs and t-shirts that say "doink" on them. I'd buy one!... Anyhoo, thank you for this very inspiring tutorial. I just love it... Oh, and I did find some air conditioning filters that are "ok" as a texture sponge but they are still not "holey" enough if you know what I mean? The sponge cells are too tight? Is that a better way of saying it? I don't know, but I too am on the hunt... So glad I joined the classroom room. Yay! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉❤

Haha! I think I will do a “Doink!” Mug. My life…doink! And pesky bits of clay!!! Okay sooo check out the Dualplex fridgie liners. They’re green. Several suggested them and they are very good - a but looser than my Spanish sponges but good. So glad you’re here, Tanya! 😊❤️🎉

Some window unit air conditioners use that type filter. I bought some at Walmart last fall to use with clay. It wasn’t very expensive to begin with, but they had marked it down and I got a roll for $1.00

Why do you start with cool oven.? It is a wonderfull tutorial
@DonnaKatoArt18 күн бұрын
Hi Marijke! I guess part of it has to do with not wanting to leave it on and my impatience as I don’t want to wait for it to heat up! I know it’s just 10 minutes but I tend to do several things at once so just walking to the oven, putting the item in and turning it in is more efficient for me. Make sense? Hugs, D

Hi Sharon! Do you need the image? If so, I included a link to it so you can print it out. It must be laser, not inkjet, kid. How are the chickens and the coon? 😊❤️
@sharonkeef0522 Жыл бұрын
We still don’t have him I did get the image I’m gonna have to go to ups to print though . I was speaking about the pods lol u said u collecting them didn’t know what to do with them . I was teasing but if you wanted I’m sure any of us would love to have something u made I know I would . I loved the photo vernon sent with my order . Anyway chickens are all fine we have one that disappeares every few days not sure where she gets off to . Gonna have to get the hubs to go pull cameras. We used to have one that flew up on top of our house yes u hard that right I’m not sure if she doing that or if she is just going over to the jungle next door and hiding . So days she’s inside the coop when they lock it sometimes she is no where to be found . I’m not even sure how she gets on our roof that’s at least 10 plus foot . These are big birds 5-8 lbs black astrolorp we did have 56 I sold half of them as no one wanting fresh eggs anymore sees the cost instore has went back down but my feed cost hasn’t plus I’m not in a factory egg laying. So I’d people rather have all the things they injected in the chickens then that’s fine I’ll keep what we got . I can’t compeat with .99 a dozen . Sorry I’m all o er the place and it’s hard to understand but I’m forgetful and can’t spell as good as I used to . This auto immune disease and the stroke has about got the best of me . I even forget how to finish normal things some days bring fog on top of everything else I have started two different mushrooms the lion Maine and the reshi I hope they help me !!

Donna, the reason ceramics didn't mesh for you in college is because you would have been a handbuilder, not a wheel thrower. You eventually found polymer clay, which similar to handbuilding in ceramics, starts with the creation of a slab, and is not messy in the way throwing is. That's my guess, anyway.
