@@APorscheStory That's awesome. The person you purchased it from bought it from my brother in law. I was there at the PCA Swap Meet when the car was sold. I am very happy that you guys resurrected it!

I brought a 1972 Targa and a 1962 356 in 1980 when I was 20 years old for a combined $’2700 both needed work but where in running condition. I did a complete rebuild all original parts. I just finished the 356 2 years ago. It only took me 41 years lol

I'm getting closer to finishing! I just haven't had the bandwidth to make films of every step! I'll have a final video for sure.

Do you have the original engine and transmission for the car?
@APorscheStory2 жыл бұрын
I don't! Lemme know if you see them laying around somewhere haha.

Great. Bought my first Porsche in 1995, 25 years old. You need to drive sports cars at young age...

@APorscheStory Жыл бұрын
Of course not! I'm getting closer to finishing! I just haven't had the bandwidth to make films of every step! I'll have a final video for sure. Almost finished with metal work and then will begin working on mechanical pieces.

Cost Reveal?.... I'm thinking about getting one to restore but being a young collage student it's hard to justify.
@APorscheStory3 жыл бұрын
I’ll do a breakdown of the cost as I get further into the build! As of right now though, I have about 7,500 into the whole thing.

My 1967 912 that was essentially a barn find.. but needed all new brakes, fuel tank and perishable parts (lines, cables, etc) as well as floor pans, new front fenders (I didn't want to use the ones on it as they had been fixed at least twice before), 1 inner and outer rocker and I rebuilt the engine myself... all in all it set me back with paint about $27,000 . That's bringing it back to 100% stock, using and restoing the original interior and doing 100% of the mechanical work myself. Of course I've been working on VW's for almost 40 years so this was essentially the same thing, just way more expensive.
