Finally, a video on this setup! I'd streamlined my Q2 carry down to the Connect and a C1Plus a few years back and it rocks. (Using it for street portraits and tight, backstage areas). I grabbed up a few more of the lights while they're around so I'm good for some time. Happy you found this!

It really is a great little setup. I added a wrist strap to it for when I use it with manual focus. I can just let it drop, focus and grab it.

Which connect? Leica or Nikon?
@michaeledmonds92035 ай бұрын
@@thecollector7250 We are talking about the smaller, cheaper, round (hockey puck) Nikon Connect. Atop Leicas it works with Profoto lights in manual mode. The newer (and bigger) Leica Connect is overkill for my needs (I don't need the ttl features). A Leica Q2 and a Nikon Connect are very cool as a tandem. I was using this combo over a year before they made the new Leica Connect.

very cool! I never considered the c1+, but been using the b10+, b10s and more recently the a10/a2's and they work flawlessly. might have to pick something like this up for family parties! thanks for the video my friend.

I'm watching this video from Japan. I've read through the comments. Are you using the Profoto Connect for Nikon in manual mode? I'd love to know more about how to use it. I own a Nikon Zf and a Leica Q3, so I'm particularly interested in that setup. Is the manual mode difficult to use?

This is manual flash then? Such a compact set up. I wonder how it would be on a film M body. Thanks for this video! I love your professional approach to photography

This is very interesting, thank you. I have a Nikon Zf and a Leica M11. Looking to dip my toe into flash photography. Mostly for macro, but also for small groups. I have two questions: (1) Would this system work with both the Zf and the M11? (2) Is there some sort of adapter that would let you mount it directly on the hot shoe (for laziness and for macro photography for instance)? Also just curious, which Nikon was that you were holding? I am considering one with a better grip, like the Z7ii just for those times I want to try using flash, or with larger lenses. Thanks for the very high quality content.
@kaskoPhoto Жыл бұрын
I use the Z7 II - love it. I am sure you can get a hot shoe adapter for it but that would take away the flash part of it since you need a remote on the hot shoe. I use it with both the Z and M cameras with the little Profoto Connect remote.

Thanks for the video ! There seem to exist several versions of the Connect. Which one works with Leica SL3 ? Thanks
@MGNphotography20 күн бұрын
Only the Profoto Connect Pro for Leica. The Canon versions of the Connect and Connect Pro do not work on any of the Leicas -- I can't speak for the Nikon, Fuji, Sony, etc. The Profoto Connect is not made for the Leica series, only the Connect Pro is.

Curious if I should keep my A2 order for the same usecase or find a used C1+ lol. Both small but I wanna use it mostly in the same way at some events. With wrist strap or maybe put it on a bracket sometimes.

A lot of people criticize the C1+ because of wattage and high price but its on my list with a purpose of using with my clic gels for a cinematic look they can set up quickly in small spaces such as adding more light from a side lamp or window.

I'm tempted by the Godox MF12 for this style of shooting. It requires one of their controllers, so it's not as petit but nothing really is compared to that Connect probably.

@kaskoPhoto Жыл бұрын
@@eangmanith I do not know if it will.
@MGNphotography20 күн бұрын
@@eangmanith Unfortunately, I wondered the same thing and just tested this -- neither the Canon Connect or Canon Connect Pro work on either my M11 or SL3. The connection points don't line up, so it doesn't even fit onto the hotshoe mount. I do have the "Profoto Connect Pro for Leica" and it is compatible with both the SL3 and my line of Profoto lights. My results haven't been as consistently accurate as with all my Canon gear, but I may need to do some more testing to find the sweet spot for adjustments.

I was a wedding photographer for about 15 years, and if you showed up at one of my contacted weddings, I would have stopped everything and made you put your equipment away. It was written into my contract that I was the only photographer allowed to take pictures. So no matter how cute your setup was...I wouldn't have allowed you to take two photos. Many tried, not one succeeded. I would simply show the bride and groom the contract, and they would tell you to put your equipment away. If you didn't...I would walk out...and I never had to leave a wedding. That would be unbelievably rude to start shooting at a wedding...so f#@k your cute little setup...use it to shoot your own contracted weddings , where they hire you based on your proven deliverable results...not your gadgety setup.
