My(8x) great grandfather was kidnapped as a boy from his family home in Ireland and sold at a slave auction in New York. He was so lucky as to be bought there by a sympathetic Quaker gentleman who couldn’t stand to think what might happen to him if some of the others there might buy him. That kind Quaker eventually became his father in law and my 9th great grandfather! I’m glad I came across this audiobook and am enjoying both the content and the reader thoroughly! Thank you so much for downloading it. The little bits of inconsistency in the Quaker speech patterns are of no great importance unless you’re a Quaker History Professor lol Thanks again!😊

Enjoyed this very much. The snarky comments are testament to rude, obnoxious, unpleasant, people.

Is this a real actual account ? Or just the narration of a fictional book.

The events are to amazing to be real I think.

It's fictional. She calls the family Quakers, but knows nothing about the faith and practice of Friends.

This author has the wrong idea about the state of death. If you read the Bible it says more than many times that the dead sleep and know nothing until when Jesus Christ comes back and calls them forth. The beauty of this is that they feel they just closed their eyes and opening them on the face of Jesus. No matter how long they lay there. Read the story of Lazarus.

Clearly, the author never talked with any Quakers, or read our books. She sounds more like Zane Gray.

Can't handle the fake dialogue of the snarky family trying to get rid of the child Nina to a mission. The dialog goes from friends speech to regular speech. Plus it sounds contrived

The only fake dialogue here is your opinion.

I think they thought her family might look for her there. Most likely that's where an orphan would be left. They knew her family would never find her if they took her further west with them.

What the hell you talking about? What a very rude comment. I listen to a lot of audio books in this one is being read by a person that showed expression in their voice. I felted this person did very well reading I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I think you're just rude
