Beautiful lyrics, sweet song, and gorgeous images. Thank you for sharing! I offer this Vedic prayer, one of the oldest hymns of praise for Gaia-Bhū Devi-Goddess Earth Let us be responsible stewards in bringing healing and care to our beautiful planet. Let us live consciously, envisioning and appreciating Mother Earth as the source of life, health, fertility, and prosperity. Every day when we wake, as we place our feet upon her, let us begin the day with a prayer of gratitude, protection, and forgiveness. Namaste! @

Beautiful words & beautiful photographs. I found the musical setting very nice, too, the way they took non-metrical words and set them to a tune. Sort of like what Joni Mitchell does sometimes.

"The primary mission of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of mankind, was not to take care of the material wellbeing of the planet, but to save immortal souls for eternal life in heaven" - Bishop Athanasius Schneider

It will be difficult to live out our Great Commission if the very planet becomes uninhabitable. Right now human beings are suffering because of human-induced climate change. God directed us to be stewards of the Earth, not despoilers. Jesus taught us to love one another -- that means not only sharing with them the Gospel, but making sure they can breath the air, drink the water, and eat from the abundance of the Earth.

Fact, pope Francis wrote the song and people made it into a video beautiful scenes and 'we thank you' anyone watching this as a religious person? ME!! So true though
@SteveKlaper-songandspirit7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. Actually, Pope Francis wrote it as a prayer at the end of his encyclical, and the two of us -- a Jewish cantor and a Franciscan friar -- felt we had to turn it into a song. Living on this beautiful and fragile planet is a religious experience in itself. Peace. Salaam. Shalom. Pace e bene.

Maybe. The lyrics were written by an 85 year old priest and, as such, are not meant to be pop-music accessible. The tune is certainly humm-able, and the intention of celebrating the beauty of our world is pretty simple and basic to all people. Take a breath, quiet the noise, look around and be grateful for life on the planet, in its many manifestations.
