A Prayer for Unity | John 17 | Gary Hamrick

When Jesus prays for us in John 17, He asks the Father to give us UNITY. But what kind of “unity” is Jesus speaking of? Does He mean that we should just all “get along,” accepting everything and anything under the “umbrella of unity?” Not at all. Unfortunately, some Christians and/or churches, in pursuit of unity, have forsaken integrity and doctrinal purity. So how do we receive and maintain the kind of unity that Jesus prays about for us? Pastor Gary shares four points about Biblical unity in today’s study from John 17.

Thank you for this wonderful message Pastor Gary Hamrick. You have hit the mark when you quote the verse "be ye not unequally yoked with unbeliever". I pray for my adult children who have a relationship with God because they have received Jesus Christ in their hearts, that Jesus will give them their lifetime partner who is a believer of Jesus. One God, one Lord Jesus Christ, one Holy Spirit. In my life I suffer because of my choice. It is only by God's grace and love for me and my family. Thank you so much and God bless.

I so enjoyed your talk on Unity. I was baptized a Catholic but have become more knowledgeable of all the teachings by attending different denominations. However, my family has not accepted any of my beliefs and thinkings, since they are Catholics. This is very hurtful to me. They believe I will not see them in Heaven since I am not practicing their religion. This teaching uplifted me in such a beautiful way and I wish they would understand this “Unity” I will keep praying for Unity between us, Thank you😊

Just to know how Jesus cares for us is a statement in itself. It is only in Unity that we can strive for the same goal. Working in Unity with the Father and Son gives us victory over our flesh. And if we all work in Unity there will not be so much dissention in the world. At the moment the world is torn apart, at war with itself. It needs Unity with the Father and Son as They are One working as a Unit. Blessings

This is why I am against pretribulation, mid tribulation and post tribulation! It divided the church and continues to divide and think it came about to divide not to unite but divide it worked! It should be in any church doctrine it was from the enemy!

And we see seven churches he talks to ,, , I knew I was on the right track , I am not Jesus even if I know him and the way I look at it is one should really take time to get to know Jehovah and he might just send Jesus to answer your question,, things are so hard to describe, remember ! I'm in a self driven chariot, lol things are done this way for a reason and who knows the mind of Jehovah, Jesus knew most of it , he Jesus look down the line of time and prayed for us and do you know I'm here to tell you today his prayers worked all the way down the line of time , incredible, that's a God as far as I'm concerned and I'm not a saint that I know of and Jesus knew more than me cause he told me 51 years ago do not fear , and like his prayer for Jesus to glorify the father I can only hope for the same in Jesus name lvjn

Try reading different versions to get the meaning..The coming of Christ was bound to bring division coz of the resultant conflict between law and faith.. remember the Pharisees?..read TPT version..it's more clearer

Sadly someone left our fellowship this week because we are not reading from the kjv. The person said that they can’t be in unity with us. How do you respond to that? I feel grieved because it’s only a difference in translation. Most of us read from nkjv and niv. This person believes we cannot read corrupted versions. Can any one speak in to this?
