@@dior9895, The guy in this video, the Pakistani-British businessman and his son, as multiple others who were mislabeled “crew members” for the purposes of skirting insurance requirements were most certainly “regular people” in the sense that they did not really understand and did not have the capacity to understand anything about the design of the submersible and the risks that this type of ‘expedition’ in something that was still in a research stage entailed.

I am very claustrophobic and afraid of the ocean so this is the ultimate horror story for me. I cannot imagine what these people are going through if they are still alive. Absolutely horrifying.

They were bolted in with no way out. Wireless remote, no black box, rescue beacon, emergency back up and basically trusting a vessel that is not highly recommended. This is awful 😞

it wouldnt work 2.5 miles underwater the radio signals wouldnt get signal alot of people are saying we can track sharks but they're not in water that deep. and sonar would barely pick up this thing its too small and quiet. lots of variables in their situation. and running out of oxygen is the last one. if their Carbon dioxide filters aren't good they're unconscious and are as good as dead. but lets hope thats wrong. I wouldnt wanna go braindead or even worse have the thing take water and have the water pressure crush you

There were submersibles in the past that could go that deep and they did. James Cameron went down like a dozen times. Not with this vessel though.

@@IanSumalloWrong, every dive was accompanied by various problems, it may have been someone safe initially but the carbon fiber hull would have degraded due to multiple trips of very cold water which degraded carbon fiber RAPIDLY. it would have potentially lost its structural integrity after the multiple dives causing hairline fractures in the hull. without proper maintenance of the hull using advanced equipment, that hairline fracture at that deep of water would have caused an implosion (Rapid Depressurization)

It is not a company. It is a non-profit that paid no taxes while ferrying tourists @ $1,000,000 per "expedition". To retain non-profit status, the scam had to claim each tourist dive was for a scientific purpose, and the tourists were "mission specialists". 100% scam.

When you are that deep in the ocean, a beacon won't do you any good. People don't understand that water is surprisingly good at absorbing radiation. And when you are at any meaningful depth, a signal will not be able to travel far enough to be read.

Had relatives on the Titantic, Amelia and louis Isaac. They both survived. She never went on another boat the rest of her life. She almost died a few days later in NYC hospital. She couldn't talk for 3 months for the trauma. That ocean swallowed up that huge ship and now people gonna tackle it with a 20ft submersible. Hubris!!!

The fact that the submersible is so simple maybe it's downfall. There is a reason why an airplane isn't just a tube with wings and an engine strapped to it. A lot of red flags for that vessel. Probably should have been certified before being used for tourism.

Apallo 1 had a single Bolted entry & exit hatch too. An oxygen fire inside killed all the astronauts during ground test that day. The door on the Titian Submarine has 17 bolts externally & there's No Way for cargo to get out once tightened inside. The bolts are the locks & they can only be removed from the outside. There's many other possible complications as well. Many nerds like me across the world want to know now where that sub is regardless of it's condition. It's so small it can disappear forever in that silt fast & we will never know what actually happened.

They have something where after 14 hours a sandbag releases and the sub will rise to the surface, no human interaction required. So it’s possible the sub has resurfaced somewhere, but they’re bolted in from the outside and won’t be able to escape without assistance.

This guy's trying to say that he was an explorer not a tourist. Explorers go were people haven't been and are usually funded by companies or other people (think Christopher Columbus admiral Byrd). Tourism is where you go where other people have been and you finance it yourself (think of Machu Picchu and Disneyland).

Explorers didn't get to some cool spot take a look for an hour and turn around and go home. That guy is a joke. He would probably call himself an astronaut if he went up in Jeff Bezos completely automated rocket. I've been in flight simulators that required way more effort. Blue Origin is a glorified carnival ride. The 'crew' pays a ton of money to go up and down and they just sit there with their hands folded looking out the window.

Air likely ran out in a instant when this Titan cracked wide open a mile plus under water. It would happen so fast they wouldn’t have had a chance to contact the mother ship.

@@W1ZY The "nose" is titanium .. The body is a carbon fiber 'tube' with a horrible geometry to 'lay up'. (To make it look like a whale or something...) And it has to mount together perfectly with no thermal expansion problems... Carbon fiber might be lighter and stronger per 'X' unit of measurement compared to many metals . But carbon fiber has a hard time being 'elastic' enough to overcome multiple stressors over time... The resin will simple break down like a cracked windshield, and fail....

@@anneke_yep2407 since you control it on your own having a tether would cause it to twist a knot far worse safety measure then no tether think like this the ship has more then 5 ways to get back up in case of emergency even if there phone had died we would likely have found the sub drifting without a tether so as you can guess finding the boat is not the issue here the boat likely imploded something you cant have a fail safe for sure we cant find it but they are dead anyway if thats the case

Our technology has also significantly improved since 1985, when Robert Ballard located the wreck. With the use of Sonar and LiDAR imaging technology, even if we don’t find the submarine with the crew alive, it will eventually be found, and it certainly won’t take 70 years.

There are vessels on the way carrying a specialized submersible that can haul it up. Problem will be the process is too slow. What I read was 1000 ft per hour iirc.

37 hours of oxygen left, assuming those on board are even alive. The chances of survival are really quite remote, at this point. The French are sending special equipment, but it may not arrive in time. Who licenses and inspects these submersibles? What is their country of registry?

The Company CEO, who is in the vessel, refused to have the vessel go through a regulatory process. The waiver that the passengers had to sign stated this overtly. It also stated several times that they could die during the voyage.

No movie will be made unless they are found alive and saved. Otherwise, they’ll probably just make a documentary. No one knows what happened, so they would have to find that big soup can and figure out what happened before anything is made. If it imploded how would anyone ever know unless they find it. I seriously hope they are located! The "TITANTIC" beneath the sea mining it's business after their bad experience years ago. Charging people $250,000 to go beneath the sea as a tour is just too much! We had a guy in our unit years ago who said this and it stuck with me to this very day: They will make money off of anything and will advertise like it's the greatest thing ever until seriousness happens, like us here on this hill fighting for the good. Then it's back to normal.
