I was very blessed to be in London for HRM the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in June last year. I visited the Imperial War Museum where a special exhibit was devoted and dedicated to her young years with ATS and her training during WWI. Who knew then that we'd lose her a mere months later. I will forever cherish memories of that trip. God bless the Queen Elizabeth II era and her legacy. She is irreplaceable 👑 🇺🇲 💕 🇬🇧

George VI became King in 1936 after his brother abdicated - Elizabeth was 10yrs old. And both she & Margaret knew that she was the 'Heir Apparent'

she wasn't heir apparent. She was heir presumptive (a person has a claim to the throne but who may be displaced by the arrival of a better claimant to the throne.

HUH? George VI was CROWNED in 1937 but ascended the throne the second Edward VIII abdicated in Dec 1936.....of all channels to get that wrong

Yes. I thought the same. Technically, you and I are right. Then my husband pointed out it was probably alluding to the coronation. That's when the monarch is dedicated to the realm and swear their oaths to God. The dialog was poorly written.
