Sushi is one of those types of cuisine that is actually fairly easy to learn how to do on a basic level, but takes literally decades to become a master. It's all about gut feeling, knowing exactly how thick each cut of fish should be, exactly the right amount of Wasabi and Ginger, and getting the rice absolutely perfect. People think it's easy to make Sushi on this level, and they are very wrong.

Well, you guys are entitled to your opinions but I would respectfully point out that no sushi chef in Japan would agree with that. I've been to Japan about 5 times and every chef I've spoken to takes much more pride in his rice than in his fish.
@NickLiang9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Kim Completely agree. My Uncle is a Sushi Chef and he never lets me forget, Sushi is rice, when he first trained he was required to wash and cook rice for 3 years before he was allowed to touch the fish. The marinade, quality of rice, combination of different grains and technique used to cook the rice is what defines a Sushi chef.

Uni Midna He also makes those faces. He probably literally had an orgasm eating food like this after having to eat octopus sperm cereal or chicken blood milkshakes or whatever the hell else this show can dig up for him
@Oyashio2029 жыл бұрын
Uni Midna It's a show. I'm sure he had to hold it until the camera sets up perfectly and then enjoy it. Unlike most of the bozos in this comment section, he is indeed a chef. He can appreciate high caliber food as much as he can appreciate the poor finding nutrition where they can.

Seeing all of these comments about how apparently rude and disrespectful the host was makes someone who is not used to eating sushi (like me) nervous to try it because I might disgrace the sushi chef or something. I think you guys need to calm down just a tad and realize that he is from a different culture, and no disrespect was intended. He just wanted to eat some good food man

He has his elbows on the table, talks with his mouth full, refers to the chef in third person when he's right there, and eats the sushi wrong (the least offensive thing). Pretty rude if you ask me

this man shouldn't be sniffing the food that is incredibly rude especially in front of the chef
@vcl67415 жыл бұрын
Maybe sniffing it hes enjoying the aroma of the fish. Ever think of that ?

Ihaba S This guy is just jealous and just needs something negative to say... Pathetic creature
@megajeffrey9999 жыл бұрын
Although i am jealous, im just pointing out basic facts. Hasn't your mother taught you any table manners? He literally has both elbows on the table, while speaking (with food in his mouth). Though i don't expect someone who dehumanizes another for a simple statement, without regarding facts to be educated or logical, you should still learn to spot simple things that make ones argument valid.

At the sushi bar you get to sit next to lawyers, spies, doctors, shrinks and ceo's. It's better than Starbucks for networking.

Beef sushi is actually served in Japan too, both at high end and cheap conveyor belt places, but still unusual

why was the guy shaking his head like he was saying no? I know it probably wasn't intentional but damn it wouldn't blame the chef for reading his body language the wrong way
