Sushi is one of those types of cuisine that is actually fairly easy to learn how to do on a basic level, but takes literally decades to become a master. It's all about gut feeling, knowing exactly how thick each cut of fish should be, exactly the right amount of Wasabi and Ginger, and getting the rice absolutely perfect. People think it's easy to make Sushi on this level, and they are very wrong.

@NickLiang
@NickLiang 9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Kim Completely agree. My Uncle is a Sushi Chef and he never lets me forget, Sushi is rice, when he first trained he was required to wash and cook rice for 3 years before he was allowed to touch the fish. The marinade, quality of rice, combination of different grains and technique used to cook the rice is what defines a Sushi chef.

Wanlop Anongchanya Maybe it's unnecessary for you and the culture you grew up on, but it's not for Japanese culture. For instance, for us Japanese, slurping noodles isn't a big deal at all. More like it's the right manner, but for Americans, you know. So it's not for you to decide that Japanese elbow thing is necessary or not for Japanese. I see what you were trying to say tho.

Just to let you know if I can select which race I want to be I would either pick Thai (as I am right now) or Japanese, Korean, and Hawaiian. Love these races. But Japanese foods is number 1 in my list. Japanese and Korean women are the hottest. And Hawaiian so I can born and live there forever lol love Hawaii Islands. Never been to Japan and Korea but I will one day. I can't RIP if I don't visit those two counties.

Ihaba S That andrew zimmern just keeped shooking his head for 14 fucking seasons random saying "delicious", "fantastic", and the same words every time, regardless of what he was disgustingly chewing on his mouth, from penises of random exotic animals to street food to a fucking soup of blood and dirt (season 4, episode 1, tanzania). It's despicable watching he eating a delicate and delicious food like sushi (this in particular made by one of the best sushi chef in the world) in that rough manner and having the same reaction of when he ate that soup. I too believe, SINCERELY, that he's enjoying that sushi, but those manners get anyone really pissed off. Just look at the face of the chef at 0:42, he REALLY wants to ram his samurai sword down his fat ass throat.

Uni Midna It's a show. I'm sure he had to hold it until the camera sets up perfectly and then enjoy it. Unlike most of the bozos in this comment section, he is indeed a chef. He can appreciate high caliber food as much as he can appreciate the poor finding nutrition where they can.

Seeing all of these comments about how apparently rude and disrespectful the host was makes someone who is not used to eating sushi (like me) nervous to try it because I might disgrace the sushi chef or something. I think you guys need to calm down just a tad and realize that he is from a different culture, and no disrespect was intended. He just wanted to eat some good food man

Although i am jealous, im just pointing out basic facts. Hasn't your mother taught you any table manners? He literally has both elbows on the table, while speaking (with food in his mouth). Though i don't expect someone who dehumanizes another for a simple statement, without regarding facts to be educated or logical, you should still learn to spot simple things that make ones argument valid.
